Aren't we all surprised by an update on this old version many are still running?
Anyone think theses changes are a must?
Updates to the installer to improve long-term functionality and the digital-signing process.
Improvements to the underlying system for the platform changelog.
Additional bugfixes for specific scenarios.
This is vague and I find this strange, not to say suspicious.

There will be no updates for Fences3, 4 or 5 in 2026...or actually, you can view Fences6 as their major upgrade. Stardock developed new major version changes after minor ones, but the direction of development has been forward. By that I mean when Fences3's features changes warranted a major versions numbering, Fences4 was born. Similarly Fences5. There was never a charge for minor changes, only major versions changes.

We did have to ship an update - we had to change how we sign our apps as industry requirements are shifting and now require hardware tokens for it, so if anyone downloads Fences 3 from their account, it will have the newer process and not throw any flags with AV apps.
We try to keep our apps on the same installer pipeline which requires us to make updates occasionally - Fences 3 will continue to function as it did, we do not intentionally break our applications like this and there is no hidden timer either.
I am trying to install this update for Fences 3.
But it cannot proceed "because executable is in use".
Please advise. What executable should I kill and how?
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try, uninstall Fences 3, reboot immediately (important), download latest version available in your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest it and report back.

It's because many are still running it that it will still get updates from time to time. I myself am running Fences 3 on my primary computer simply because it is still running Windows 7 ...
