Does anyone want something made in DesktopX or xWidgets?
The table below lists requests which have been made in this thread and the skinners/creators who have expressed an interest in taking them on.
It does not indicate they are actually going to complete/finish any request, just that they might be doing so or be giving them a try.
Full screen image on all monitors when user has not had a 'break' for a period of time. With an unlock button and time out. 90% completed.

Thanks Gaspershooters, but I mean to create as something new. A new idea or function or gadget thing that someone wants.
Or something current ones don't do that is wanted.
Hey Skarny!
I really need to get up off my PC and walk around once in a while.
A timer that detected input (keyboard or mouse clicks) for a user set amount of time and if it didn't stop for five minutes (time to get coffee or whatnot) throw an alert/darken the entire screen except a button in the middle of [each] monitor that won't clear for five minutes.
GO!
Hey Skarny !
If you could make anything for "Optix Fire" it would kick ass !! [e digicons]\o/[/e]
(-Interested will get the PSD's on request) [e digicons]|-)[/e]

On it.
I defer to the amazing RND if you want a suite of widgets to go with your theme - however - if you want something specific that isn't something done yet...

I second Zu's idea...would be awesome. But I don't have desktopx, what are xwidgets? Do they stand alone?
No, they, like DX widgets, have to have a runtime installed.
DesktopX widgets needs DesktopX installed. A gadget is standalone. It needs no runtime/software installed in order to run.
XWidget widgets need XWidget installed.
A Yahoo widget would need Yahoo Widgets Engine to be installed.
Thank you Jim !!
You're welcome, Barb. XWidget is free, btw.
I'd like a steampunk style clock that runs backwards, like the clock in the beginning of the movie "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", except actually place the numbers backwards.

If Skarny gets to busy with the other request I can do this for you no problem. I know how to make xwidgets and clocks are my favorite to do.
Happy for others to take on suggestions If anyone gets stuck we can then collaborate on solutions/ideas Just make a comment on what you plan to work on so others know you are doing so and then can save duplicate work / encourage communications.
P.S. I have DesktopX Pro which means I can hopefully make things run standalone even if you don't have DesktopX - not everything plays nice as a gadget however.
I just wanted to say that "Full screen image on all monitors when user has not had a 'break' for a period of time. With an unlock button and time out." is a fantastic solution. I work from home (at the computer) and one of my favorite passtimes when I'm not working is...yes...playing at the computer. It is not unlike me to sit here for 12 hours straight some days.
Recently I noticed one of my feet was swelling up...didn't remember twisting it or anything...oh well...back to work...the next day it was like 2x the normal size and by the third day it was so swollen the skin was cracking and bleeding. Went to the ER and discovered a blood clot in my lower leg--from sitting too long at the PC.
I've been using just a timer to go off every 90 minutes, but it's really easy to just click it off. I would love a PC lock like was mentioned above, that when it locks up the PC, truly locks you out for a period of time and only re-booting would get you out any earlier.
It might have saved me 2 surgeries a WHOLE lot of pain and about 12,000 in medical bills! (And climbing since I'll be on blood thinners the rest of my life now!)
RND HUH?
FTR, I am currently not working on anything..... [e digicons][/e]
Thanks!
