I've been a happy user of Multiplicity v3 and I just purchased v4. Not sure why now that I think about it and am considering installing it. Can it install OVER the v3 install or do I have to uninstall v3 first? If I uninstall can I retain the settings from v3 in some form or another? If I change my mind can I return v4 license, unregistered for a refund? Thanks.
Hello,Usually, install over should be fine, but it is best to uninstall old and install new. But, I am not sure if Multiplicity 3 setting will be correctly carry over to Multiplicity 4. To be sure, I have forwarded your question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
Note: Stardock is starting on its Summer vacation, so, respond might be slow.

Thanks for the clarification, Basj. I’m also looking to upgrade from v3 to v4 and was wondering about the same thing regarding the settings. If there’s any official word from the support team later on whether the v3 settings are retained or need to be manually reconfigured in v4, that would be helpful to know. I’ll keep an eye on this thread too. Appreciate the follow-up.
When will Summer vacation end? How does it impact my 30-day return window???

Hello all and thank you for posting.
Yes, settings from Multiplicity 3 will carry over to the installation of Multiplicity 4. You should be able to simply install over with the latest version.
We encourage users to take advantage of our free 30-day trial, which will activate Multiplicity with the current "Pro" version of the license. This can be found by selecting "Try Free" from the product page, then activating the Trial with your email after installing:

Also, you are going to want to install the trial on ALL your MP PC, not just the Primary...

Can I install on the secondary from the primary in KVM mode or do I need to hookup a monitor and keyboard for that? Which should be first, secondary or primary?
You'll want independent control for each PC to complete the setup, as mismatching versions are expected to encounter issues connecting/maintaining connection. However, it doesn't matter if Primary or Secondary is installed first. The important thing is that both versions are the same when the connection is established.
Okay, I finally got around to updating to 4.05 today. I installed over the old version and expected the settings to be maintained. They sort of did. Passcode and IP address remained intact but computer name was lost. Removed monitor, mouse and keyboard from secondary. Restarted both computers. Tried HotKey (from old install) but that had been lost as well. Re-enter hotkey and this time it brought up the secondary's screen. Very quickly I might add . Audio is transferred correctly as well. Mouse pointer is there and moves but can't click anything left or right buttons are inactive also no input from keyboard. Reconnected stuff to secondary computer and then deactivated Norton 360 firewall on both primary (Win 11) and secondary (Win 10 Pro). Nothing changed, same problem persists. Not sure what to try next. Help please.
Second Round: I have completely uninstalled on both systems, deactivated firewall, reinstalled both still doesn't allow remote control from primary keyboard or mouse.
After a couple of frustrating days. I tried removing and reconnecting the secondary from the primary. Renaming the secondary in the process. It finally works! The connection is faster than the v3 as mentioned in my earlier post. I've only just got this working but sometimes on connection the mouse cursor disappears. Also the mouse and keyboard stop interacting after working for awhile. I close and reconnect to fix either. Still waiting on a reply from my 8/10 post. I'm hoping for suggestions to make the v4 connection more stable and reliable.
