Although the Start11 Windows 7 Start Menu offers the option to pin certain apps/programs like Word, Excel, and Calculator to the Taskbar, it does not offer those options for Snipping Tool, Phone Link, or others. How can I get it to allow these apps, which I DID have pinned to the Taskbar using Start10 with Windows 10, to pin with Start11 and Windows 11?
Open the app you want to pin; right-click the icon on the taskbar and select "Pin to taskbar."
I have been using Windows computers since 1992. I know about right-clicking and choosing "pin to taskbar." I SAID, quite clearly, that Start11 is not showing that option for certain applications/programs although it does allow it for others.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, on my system, I tested on "Snipping Tool" and it does show Pin to taskbar on my system.
Perhaps something not get install properly, please try, uninstall Start11, reboot immediately (important), download latest version available in your account product download page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products. Install it, reboot immediately again. Retest it and report back.

If you are using the Windows 7 Style menu, I don't believe you can pin apps to the taskbar from the "Universal Applications" right-hand shortcut list, but you can pin them from the left-hand shortcut list. That's why I suggested the method above.
My apologies, I misread your email. Yes, I was able to open the app, click on the icon on the Taskbar, and pin it to the Taskbar. Thanks very much
Hmm ... I was able to pin Snipping Tool and several other applications to the Taskbar by opening them and clicking Pin to Taskbar from the icon that was open on the Taskbar (snip1).
However, while the icons for the other programs remained pinned to the Taskbar and correctly showing the program icon even after I closed them, that wasn't the case for the Snipping Tool. Once I closed Snipping Tool, the icon on the Taskbar changed from the Snipping Tool icon to a generic monitor icon, and when I click on the icon, it does not open the Snipping Tool (snip 2).
Any ideas??
See what happens if you pin it to the taskbar using the default Windows 11 Start menu.
I deleted Start 11, restarted, pinned the Snipping Tool to the taskbar, restarted, reinstalled Start11, restarted ... and the Snipping Tool remains pinned to the Taskbar with the correct icon. Thanks!
I'm glad you got it working.
I hope you didn't misunderstand me, as you can open the default Windows 11 Start Menu using a setting in the Control section of the Config app.
It could also be that reinstalling Start 11 is what fixed the issue.
