first, I would like to let you know, I am really enjoying this game.
I have a question regarding the tech "Reverse Engineered Shields" for the Vasari Alliance. The way it is implemented seems a little bit counter intuitive for me. The Vasari are themed around continous regeneration of their shields, armor and hull and (for me) it feels not right that, when reaching zero shield points and thus triggering the shield burst cooldown, that the shield regeneration stops until the shield burst timer reaches zero.
Is this working as intended? If yes, I would like to make a request in changing it, so that shield points will continue to regenerate as normal, while the shield burst timer is counting down. For balancing reasons, the amount of shield points restored by the shield burst could be reduced.

I think it's working as intended as the game lore is that it's reverse engineered from Advent shield tech. In the lore, Advent are the masters of shields and this is evident in their units which have high shield levels, recharge rates and burst charging but are otherwise very lightly armoured.
The concept is that the shields have sustained sufficient damage to be collapsed and that the burst cooldown is basically like a charging cycle before the shield can be re-established. If it was constantly ticking up anyway this wouldn't carry the same concept or gameplay implications.
Thank you for your response. I did not read the description for the Reverse Engineered Shields tech. There it states that it will interfere with the regenerative shielding while charging, so it is working as intended. My mistake
I agree that the Advent are lore wise the masters of shields. But still I think that the shield burst and the Reverse Engineered Shields and the Regenerative Shielding could have been combined, maybe by reducing the amount of shield points restored or increasing the countdown.
