With the Start11 v2.1 beta release today, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.
Object Desktop members can get beta and Insider builds from within Object Desktop Manager with 'Enable Object Desktop Insider builds' enabled:
Or via their download page in the ‘Object Desktop Insider’ section
If a beta was released, Object Desktop Members would see it in the ‘Object Desktop’ section.
Individual purchases would see it on their registration of the product under their download page.
Right-click the Product in Steam

Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen
Screenshots and videos are very helpful. Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post. Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.
If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions. If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.
Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Start11 v2 a better product.
Bug report - this behaviour was seen in 2.08 and appears unchanged in 2.09I use Windows 10 Enterprise, 22H2, 19045.4651. I have no idea of the extent, if any, to which this problem shows up on other systems but here is my report.Reproduce the problem by following these steps.Start the system from cold. When the desktop appears ready, press the Windows key to bring up the start menu. You will notice that the right arrow and any attempt to enter something in the search box is unresponsive until you use the mouse to open an installed app that expects keyboard input.
Thereafter, Start 11 appears to respond as it ought.
That’s it really.
W11 Build 22631.4037
After Tuesday update (Aug 13) - Results in Build 22631.4037 - to W11 right clicking on pinned Apps on task bar does not give any lists
The Task Bar is on top - When moved to the bottom of screen you do get the lists
Restarted Windows Explorer - Problem still exists
This problem occurs on both 2.09 and beta Version
I can confirm that the right-click context menu does not appear if the taskbar is on top without the Enhanced taskbar turned on. With the Enhanced taskbar turned on, the right-click context menu for Start11 app intermittently appears at the bottom of the screen as if the taskbar was on the bottom. This occurs when switching the position of the Start button from center to left. The first few times it appears normal and then after right-clicking other apps on the taskbar, it then appears at the bottom.
Going forward enhanced taskbar is required for on top taskbars due to OS changes.
Has my bug report in this thread (https://forums.stardock.com/529635/get;3939433) (Reply 9) been logged? I received no response regarding it.
Thnx for the response
Now using enhanced taskbar - Working
We have addressed the 'core isolation' the best we can for now with 2.09

This is by design.
There simply isn't sufficient room on the right hand side of the taskbar to make this work correctly when you have everything set to centre. Later versions of Windows changed from having the widgets as a small icon next to Search to making it larger and forcing it to the right hand side so we had no choice but to stop this showing in this situation as it would make it unusable.
All,
The Start11 v2.09 beta has been updated to 2.1. For the details, please see:
https://forums.stardock.com/529635/get;3939196
As always, thank you for your time, feedback, and support.
I notice that the problem described in my earlier post persists into 2.1, and indeed has not yet been commented on by any Stardock people.
I can confirm that the right arrow key does not work when the menu is first opened, but if you press the up arrow key first, as long as the power button is not selected, then you have control with the all the arrow keys.
Thanks for the workaround, but would you agree that this is a bug?
It may be a Windows Explorer limitation, but it is a far cry better than the Windows default Start menu, where you can only move right or left on the folders which appear next to the Power button. You can't get to any of the pinned items.
It may be, but I certainly don't recall an issue of this nature when running Start 10.
Having now had time to look at this, I'm afraid that this does not work here. So it appears to me that there is definitely something amiss with Start 11's relationship with the system keyboard immediately after system startup.
The up arrow does nothing more than to close the start menu that you had just opened with the Windows key. It is not until some other keyboard activity has taken place that the behaviour of Start 11 becomes correct.
I can't reproduce this. What Start11 menu style are you using.
Modern style.
I am now on vacation for a couple of weeks and have no access to the machine, so that's it for now. But I have described the issue, although minor, clearly and succinctly.
What happens immediately after startup if you attempt to type into the search box? The way that Start 10 always worked (for me) was that pressing the Windows key put the text focus into the start menu search field. It is this that appears to be failing in these recent beta versions until something happens to correct the situation (i.e. use of the keyboard, perhaps).
You said earlier…
…which does sound like the heart of the matter, although the exact symptoms of the problem may be slightly different in your environment.

Is it possible something else has taken focus away during startup?
Apps opening things after login often steal focus away.
Do you know if it continues to happen if you open Start11 for the first time after Windows has been running for a few minutes and also does this only happen if you open using the Windows key rather than clicking the start button?
Of course, but if it was a simple focus problem I would be able to recover the text focus by clicking in the start menu search box. Doesn't help.
AFAIK, the situation does not change until a keyboard-using app. has run, and one character has been typed.
does this only happen if you open using the Windows key rather than clicking the start button?
Identical behaviour, ISTR.
With enhanced taskbar enabled and combined taskbar icons enabled the wrong icon is sometimes displayed.
In my case anyway it is wrong for all libre office applications. With the beta the icon is correct when app is launched directly, but wrong then launched by opening associated filetype. They all show the VLC icon instead. (Before updating to beta it was wrong when launched directly too.) If taskbar buttons aren't combined it shows the correct icon.
Hi!
There is strange drawing when minimize and maximise settings dialog window. Central parts of window appears first, then whole window appears. This "bug" is present still v2 beta, not related exactly for 2.1 release.
Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (22631.4037) Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1027.0
I'm using Start11v2 option to place taskbar to top of the screen if it matters.
Here the video:

Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Do you have Stardock WindowFX running in your system or something similar running in your setting that introduce Windows animation effect?
Thank you.Basj,Stardock Community Assistant.
Nope, no other "design" apps, only Start11v2
Hello,I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

This looks very strange. I can not reproduce these findings on my system. The drawing of the Config app seems very slow. Have you updated your GPU driver lately?
