I joined the dev testing on EGS for both GC4: Supernova and SoaSE2. I have this dubious memory that the beta testers for GC4 got a steam kek or were able to activate/transfer to steam up on full release. Is there any word on whether this may happen with SoaSE2? Though admittedly, I could be hallucinating the whole concept
There is a lot of threads asking about this and the devs have said they are looking into it. So far, if it does happen, it will be just the base game for the steam version. So nothing yet. This is just my speculation but I feel the devs think its a sure thing BUT it be silly to say it without not knowing 100% themselves cause it be a real rug pull to say yes and then unable to deliver.
Check steam forums for sins2 for more of its discussion but otherwise we should know in the coming week or so if its a ye or nay.
Cool, thanks! I should have done more searching before posting.
I would say it is now unlikely given how close release is with no word. I will probably just buy it on steam to get away from epic. None of my friends will see me pop up playing it on epic. The question for me now though is if I miss any goodies by making a clean break from epic?

“ Q: If I bought the game on Epic, can I get a Steam key?
A: We plan to have a link soon after release to allow players to transfer their key over if you bought the game prior to June 2024.“
The answer is too late to matter as I will probably have to buy at release to get my friends playing and lock in the expansion.
Since the key is not a straight steam key but a transfer I cannot give it to anybody else either.
