So, there is a bit of an odd issue I am experiencing. When the "Offset the menu from the taskbar" option in the Start Menu Visual Appearance section is set to "Never," the start menu icons remain interactable when I hover over a taskbar icon and get a preview window. For a use case example of this being an issue, I hit the Windows key to interact with the taskbar while in a full screen program. This brings up the start menu. I go to click something on my taskbar with multiple windows (i.e., Steam/Steam chat, or a browser with many tabs), but it does not click the preview window for a particular tab on the taskbar; it clicks on the icon in the start menu behind the preview window of the item on the taskbar. When set to "Always," this does not occur - it will successfully open the selected window. Essentially, if I hit the Windows key to go an Amazon tab I have open, it will not go to Amazon, but, say...the Xbox Game Bar app, because that was the app on the start menu behind the preview window.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your issue.
Thank you.Basj,Stardock Community Assistant.
Following thread - I have the same issue and it manifests itself quite frequently especially with virtual desktops. If I uninstall Start11, the problem doesn't occur.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, same questione as in my reply#1. Need those informations.
same probem here! right click in start menu, and the mouse not mark the correct position.
I'll need to wait for the issue to occur for a video. Note that the explorer.exe process is in a corrupted state so sometimes you can't do anything. I'll try to get a video or screenshot it somehow.
For the other info:
1. Windows 11 23H2 Build 22631.3672
2. Start11 version : 2.08
I tried on my Windows 11 system with the same Start11 v2.08, but I can not reproduce it. And. When you said
That show me its not happening all the time, yes? So, any specific steps I can follow to make it happen all the time? Appreciate your feedback.
Thank you,
Basj,Stardock Community Assistant
Please find a video of the issue here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj9nRZC1HCs
If "Offset the menu from the taskbar" is set to "Never" when I try to interact with the Firefox preview window, it instead clicks the icon in the start menu behind the preview window, which, in this case, is File Explorer. Sometimes if I accidentally scroll while moving my mouse/clicking, I might end up launching an app or a game.
To answer your other questions:
1. Windows 11, Version 23H2, OS build 22631.3593
2. Start11 is at Version 2.08
Thank you Godak and from your video, I can recreate the issue on my system. Look like it need to be same specific setting as shown in your video. I have forwarded this problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
Thank you for passing it along!
