There hasn't been an update in awhile since the development team went on holiday break. so any info on whats coming?
My guess would be next year sometime. This games development has been painfully slow.
We've had an update every month since we started. The last one was in November.
There will very likely another update for the test branch this year, read it on the discord.
Technically this is correct, if we take into consideration that there used to be monthly updates at near 25th of a month, this time the last content patch was in october around 25th. With consequent bug fixes to around 11.11.
So, yes I do expect the loyalist faction next time.
Discord isnt an interesting place.

I agree, forums here are dead for a upcoming game.
Discord is used now primarily by developers to weed out any discourse, so it's a hug fest. 🙄
Sure there are lots of hugs, but if you read our monthly change logs and cross-check against our community Discord feedback, you'd see a large portion of the line items come from said Discord community feedback.
We do monitor this forum and a few other 3rd party locations as well.
So will we get the Advent for the Holidays?
After about a year I'd finally gove this game another go!
A bit OT: Will there be a DX 12 upgrade in the future? I don't really know the engine's history, but DX 12 wasn't brand new when Sins 2 was announced and I noticed a short while ago that the game still runs under DX 11.
Sins 1 was/is one of the hardest CPU limits I ever ran into, and thought DX 12 would be the way to go.
There will be another update test build before the holidays. DX12 is partially implement, but like many games the performance improvements aren't great and sometimes even worse so we sidelined it for the time being. But, you'll be happy to know that the CPU performance of Sins2 is fantastic - it will also use all possible cores you can throw at it.
like others have said i would love advent to be added before playing again, my last game i did enjoy so im pleased with how things are going, and a side point i would make is dont rush this game, take the time and do it right, sins 1 was a cult game because of its replayability, also looking forward to more maps:)
