Hello, I've been having an issue with virtual desktops and Start11 (latest version). The problem is that the icons get messed up on the taskbar and system tray. They get shifted and the icon I click might be the app next to the one I want. It will resolve itself most of the times when I click on the start menu icon. I have seen a few people report this issue and just curious if this is a known issue. Thanks!
When using the start11 autohide mode, if you use the windows 11 snap feature (I'm not sure what its actually called) to maximize two windows and split the left/right of the screen, it leaves a gap for the hidden taskbar for both windows.
I think some things for leaving the gap was fixed before, but it still happens when you use the right/left snap.
I have never launched GitCMD. Not via Start11 or any other way. And I never intend to. I installed git as it was needed for VSCode.
Therefore… an app I’ve never used and never intend to use has demoted cmd… one I use all the time.
I know I can pin it but I’m more of a keyboard guy for a lot of things.
Surely it should be still visible, even if not “best match” for a brief time before being promoted again by my usage?
If you are a keyboard first person, you should really try PowerToys Run.
PowerToys Run is a quick launcher for power users that contains some additional features without sacrificing performance.
PowerToys Run supports various action keys to funnel search queries for a specific subset of results. Typing < searches for running processes only, ? will search only for file, or . for installed applications! See PowerToys documentation for the complete set of 'Action Keys' available.
I’ll be sure to check that out when I get to my desk on Monday. I have power toys installed but have never noticed that one. Thanks for the tip.

Hello, I've been experiencing an issue with Start11 2.x (latest version). The problem is that all the icons on the taskbar and system tray are getting jumbled. Sometimes many icons from programs not pinned to the taskbar are displayed - the order is completely random, making it impossible to locate the desired program...
The only workaround so far is to terminate and restart the explorer.
I recall having the same issue with Start11 1.x a while ago, which was eventually resolved with an update. Perhaps the same miracle might occur again.
Any advice on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try the uninstall, reboot immediately, redownload latest, install it, reboot immediately again. Retest and report back.

Startmenu on secondary and tertiary monitor not working with display fusion.
Either nothing happens or the default windows start menu pops up on the main screen.
This is with the start menu button on screen. If i press the windows key it pops up as expected. For now i have disabled the start menu icon on the other taskbars to stop myself from clicking them without thinking.
This is probably related to how display fusion hooks in to "grab" the start menu, and i have mentioned the issue on their forums as well..Now i know you have no obligation to work along with other third party apps, but i think the overlap in your users with display fusion should be pretty high, as you both help users tackle short comings of the windows 11 user interface.
I would love to see some dialog between the two companies to make sure their apps work in harmony, as they both contribue to a real improvment of my day to day workflow.

I did that and the result ist still the same. Any other idea ?
Running Start11 2.03 on an i9 Dell XPS15-9530 running Windows 11 Pro 22H2.
Didn't notice this in version 2.06, but Objectdock was working at the time.
Right clicking items in the start menu causes a lock up when the menu appears. Opening task manager clears it: The unresponsive menu goes away as soon as the task manager window opens.
Trying to restart (my default is hibernate), opening options for shut down, etc. does the same.
Tried running in compatibility mode (Windows 8). That doesn't fix the problem.

Does this problem continue without ObjectDock running?
Same problem. I commented a few times on the forum about this issue but no response. I love the Start11 product but this bug is annoying. Hopefully it will get fixed soon.
Any idea what causes this? It is very frustrating as it happens a ton of times. If you need more info please feel free to ask for it.
Hello, any potential solutions to the system tray icons disappearing/hiding for about a second before reappearing when closing a window?
Bunch of broken folders with the fences icon showed up in my start11 menu, not sure what this is.
This occurs when a taskbar button is removed (but not added). Either from closing a window or moving it to another monitor. I have posted this bug a couple of times with videos and confirmation. We will just have to wait for a fix.
Those would be Fences on your desktop. I suspect they have names but are in black for some reason. If you turn this off, they will go away

Can confirm the issue with Task View and jumbled icons, seem like the issue report here: https://forums.stardock.com/523632/page/1/#3911531 is back again
Windows build 22621.2715. DPI is 125%.
Right-clicking on taskbar icons closer to the right-hand side of the screen does not invoke a context menu for that icon, but instead shows the taskbar's menu. Open programs do show the thumbnail on hover. Holding Ctrl or Alt does not invoke the context menu either for these 'click-thru' icons. Context menus show correctly for tray icons when interacted with. Restarting explorer.exe does not help. Persists after reboots.
I can still drag icons around, so in the image video above I can swap the positions of Tiger VNC with the YouTube Music Desktop App and then access it's context menu.
I'm still getting the "first icon" overlapped to the Start Button as soon as I enabled the "Enhanced Taskbar".
This bug was also present on the original Start11.
I seriously need this fixed since the new "autohide" functionality works like a charm, much better than default Windows 11.
I'm having the same issue too. Any word on a fix?
I have two issues, which were also in v1.
Windows 11 22H2 x64
Note: My taskbar is at the top of the screen.
1. Right-clicking the Start Menu brings up the alternate menu, though when mousing over items, the mouse pointer needs to move to at least the middle of the item vertically to be selected. (You can see in the screenshot, that the mouse pointer is over Terminal, though Terminal (Admin) is still selected.
I did test this on a Win11 without Start11, and it didn't seem to have the same issue.
2. Sometimes, when right-clicking a taskbar preview window, the context menu is displayed behind the preview window, obviously obstructing the use of the context menu.
Thank you
Hello,I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
What about MY complain?.
The start button gets mixed with the first icon all the time when Enhance the Taskbar functionality is enabled with the Autohide feature.
Please I need an update on this. It is UNUSABLE at this stage.
This issue has been reported several times and the Dev's are aware of it.
Well if they are aware of the issue, all the more emphasis on fixing it.
I've bought the original Start11 which has this bug some time ago, then I bought Start 11 V2 which also has this bug (again) and I paid twice. I think I'm entitled to be a little mad that the presentation on my taskbar is less than desirable.
