When I enable "Start 11 autohide mode" I can't get the taskbar to show back up on the main monitor unless I press the Windows key on my keyboard. I can drag my mouse cursor down all I want but it won't bring the taskbar back up. I've since had to disable autohide.
The only workaround that I can see is keeping the Start11 Config screen always open, not even minimized; it has to be open somewhere on the desktop for the taskbar to be able to be pulled back up.
This is an issue in both the current stable version as well as the beta version (which I'm running).
That is what I thought as well but then I just uninstalled Nvidia GeForce Experience and now the service is no longer there and the autohide works for me. BTW I'm still on Start11 version 2.03.
I had the same feeling about this as others expressed, mainly because the most official-looking answer was "this is how you disable the service" and nothing else. I do understand that the feature might be a "niche" thing and it is difficult to fix something you can't reproduce but it is a feature you offer.
It is intended as a workaround for now whilst the issue is investigated further. That is also not a critical component as others have said.
Also, I would appreciate this answer a bit sooner. Not after the user complains.
Regarding this bit.
Since I uninstalled mine a couple of days ago I'm not able to get you the exact version but it was the most recent at the time. The settings were default with two exceptions, I changed it to not apply the best graphic setting for games automatically and I had the experimental setting enabled. I intend to reinstall the GeForce Experience then I can give you more precise information.
My graphic card is MSI GeForce RTX 4080 16GB SUPRIM X and the driver version was/is 546.33
OS scaling factor is 100%
I did write a Powershell script to disable the problematic system service and so far, it seems like disabling the service fixes the issue and there doesn't seem to be any negative side effects from disabling it, not even while gaming. But now the million-dollar question is... What is nVidia doing that's f***ing things up?
As we have always done with every one of our apps, we will do our best to work around any 3rd party app interfering with how Start11 functions. However, if we cannot, it certainly does not mean a feature is broken or falsely advertised.
Can you link to the post or thread where we bailed on this investigation, MalakAdonai?

We believe we have tracked it down further to the in game overlay feature of Geforce experience. The issue only happens when that is in use.
I am also optimistic we have this worked around for the next update.
Awesome, I will watch this thread for the update and try it out.
With the latest beta It`s finally working now
Running beta v2.0.5. Reinstalled Nvidia GForce Experience. Rebooted, verified NvContainerLocalSystem Service is running. No issues with hide taskbar. Thanks for all your help in getting this fixed.
Pleased to read this...
Been having a similar issue on my new build. Whenever I tabbed out of a windowed fullscreen game the taskbar would show for a second then get forced into the background behind the game. Even if I was focused on other apps. Didn't matter if autohide was on or off. This never used to happen so was really confused. Then I realized that the only thing that has changed on my setup was that I had started using the Nvidia App Statistics Overlay (CTRL R). Whenever the statistics overlay is enabled that is when the issue starts up. Just wanted to share in case that helps anyone.
