Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)
Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen
Screenshots and videos are very helpful. Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post. Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.
If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions. If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.
Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Start11 v2 a better product.
It all started when i updated windows 11 pro to 23H2.Before that Start11 v 1.x was working perfectly.I figured windows changed so much, it was time to upgrade Start11 to v2.Hopefully it would fix the issue. No luck.2. I have nothing that alters anything in windows.3. Yes, the option to show Start11 menu in settings is enabled.4. This is a desktop pc.Edit: I just tried a clean boot again, everything disabled. When starting the start11 service after logon, it works. But when i reboot it's back to not working.I tried setting it to delayed start, but it won't allow me.And as said, it all started after updating windows 11 pro to 23H2. Edit 2: I just came across another thread on this forum about a user being able to update to windows 11 with an unsupported CPU.I'm running an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X which is supported. So that should not be the problem.
I am going to start a new thread for this issue so we don't clog up the main feedback thread.

Font Size Changes when "Adjust global menu scaling" Set to Anything other than 100%
I just noticed this within the last couple of versions. I'm not sure exactly which. I'm on 2.0.1.1 now.
I have "Adjust global menu scaling" set to 110%
Symptom: When I right click on the Start11 menu and then move to the context menu, the font size for the tabs reverts to 100% and then the context menu font size reverts to 100%. (See attached video below.)

After closing the Start11 menu, upon reopening the font sizes are back to my setting of 110%.

Is anyone else experiencing the issue where if you set a taskbar to be autohidden you can't get it to reappear? The only workaround that I can see is keeping the Start11 Config screen always open, not even minimized; it has to be open somewhere on the desktop for the taskbar to be able to be pulled back up.

Same here. I have the global menu scaling set to 90%
Not updating "Recently installed" apps
Start11 doesn't show certain apps in the recently installed apps section (for example installed through the Microsoft Store).
Taskbar doesn't autohide after clicking system tray
If you have S11 autohide enabled, the taskbar doesn't hide if you click the system tray unless you click somewhere else.
Switching between workspaces/desktops causes lags
If you switch between Windows desktops/workspaces (not monitors) you'll encounter general lags (noticeable by moving around the mouse)
I confirm I also experience the Virtual Desktop switching lag. Additionally, it causes the icons on the taskbar to shift (i.e. I click on Explorer, but it opens Chrome).
The system tray one sounds normal. If the taskbar is the active window or the mouse is over the taskbar area then it will not close.
Thank you for the new release!
Sorry for asking the same question twice, but I've never got feedback for my request and in case it got lost:It would be really cool if we could get the option to display the taskbar as a Dock, similar to how RoundedTB does it:
https://forums.stardock.com/523854/page/1/#3909261
The behavior isn't very consistent in my opinion. If I click the start button or the input method/locale button the taskbar will autohide, if you click somewhere else in the taskbar it will not close. Anyway, I don't think most of the people using the autohide feature want the taskbar to remain fixed if they click the system tray, clock or Wi-Fi/connections.
Today I saw that in my account the option to download the beta version was activated. Unfortunately, I see nothing about the issue I posted here: The pins on multimonitor taskbars do not work:
https://forums.stardock.com/523931/page/1/#3909596
Any news about it?
The items on a secondary but not a primary display will now display a menu though not the jumplist.
I tried the beta but nothing has changed, I cannot show the pins on primary and secondary displays and no menu if only secondary display is chosen.
EDIT: As previously mentioned only on secondary available, on all screens it does not work, no jumplist with recent documents. I saw the menu when we click right, but not that useful. Also when I click the program opens on primary display, not on the display we click the shortcut. Really this feature needs a lot of work to become useful.
hi... i not sure, am i reporting the bug in the right channel...Start11v2 previously have a good integration with Fences4....previously Fences4's folder can be added to Start11v2's pinned group....but the recent Fences5(preview) break that integration....when can we expect the integration back ?
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, look like it still work on my system. In which part you see it is broken?
Thank you,
Basj,Stardock Community Assistant
I am having issues with shutting my PC down when using Start11 v2.01 with one of the Windows 11 presets (sorry I forget which one and I'm not currently at my home PC where Start11 v2 is installed to check).
If I click on the Power button on Start11 then the options pop up with the very top Sign out box highlighted (in grey) and it stays over that option even when I move the mouse across the options. In fact, I can see the mouse moving over the options behind the Power menus. Sometimes it works if I wait a while and then I can finally select the Shutdown option but it is frustrating and I end up switching to the default one using the Windows key and shutting my PC down that way.
There is clearly an issue here, on my system at least, because this is not how the normal Wndows 11 power options work where I can shut down my PC immediately rather than having to wait or not having it register at all as Start11 v2.01 is doing for me currently.
Is this a known issue?
Hi, I encountered this problem when creating a menu folder in the start bar
the menu that opens because it goes too high?
in addition to this I noticed that the icons of the folders created are much smaller than the other icons such as file explorer.
Isn't it possible to set it to the same size as the other icons?
Are you opening this menu by pressing the Windows key + Number, or are you clicking he menu icon on your taskbar?
We have reproduced this with menus that are too tall to be one column, but too small to be 3 and should have it fixed in soon.
The icon sizes should be identical to those on the left hand side of Windows Explorer and small icon view in explorer.
I understand, so I'm patiently waiting for an update on it.
But what about the icon? when adding a folder I noticed that the icon is smaller than the others.
Could you post a screenshot showing the icon in the menu and the icon elsewhere thats bigger?
I think the icon was created with the correct size, I don't see any difference between a Windows icon and this one.the icon has a size of 128x128 in .ico format obviously
A Windows icon isn't made up of just one image or size. Windows explorer in Windows 10, has the sizes seen on the left in the screenshot and resizes the one nearest to what is displayed.
If an icon however have just one size, or are missing the essential sizes, issues may occur. And as you can see, 128x128 isn't even there in the Windows default explorer icon, so that might be a good place to start to try other icons and see if the issue goes away, or even better if you can open it in an icon editor to see the different sizes or create those missing.
just a minor follow up....i think i found the problem....Start11v2 + Fences5 (clean install) = the fences integration don't work....but ifStart11v2 + Fences4 * Fences 5 (overwrite upgrade) = the fences integration work without issue....i tested this theory on my VM twice.... it's reproducible issue.....can someone re-check this ?
You are correct, it is due to a registry key issue. We have a fix for this in the next beta soon.
