I've been using Start 11 since, well, Start 10 I received an email from you today about the new Start 11 v2. Looks super compelling! Email says my upgrade price is £3.99. Nice. But when I go to buy it and get to the checkout, it tells me the price is £4.99, a pound more. Is that right? It's not a lot of money but a bit of a mismatch, no?
I'm keen on the multi-pack price as I have 4 PCs running Windows 11. The website says the 5-pack upgrade price is £8.99. Is that price accurate?

I think the variance might be due to fluctuating exchange rates...the original prices are in US$...
Hmm, I don't think so. According to my bank, the exchange rate today is £1 = $1.22 so £4.99 equals $6.01. On that rate, $3.99 should equal £3.28. All these include taxes.
On your end, but not necessarily the bank Stardock uses...might have a different fee schedule, but, as I said, I'm speculating (no pun intended).
Then Stardock is probably using "loan sharks" as a bank . Exchange rates are instigated by our national banks and all banks have to adhere to those (and no it doesn't include administrative costs) (Also no pun intended)
Here in the Netherlands it's the same. Offered upgrade for $3.99 but at checkout it's €4.99. and here too the Euro2USD ≈1.06
Found out what the problem is. In the US all prices are listed excl. tax (vary per state). And internationally (certainly in Europe) all prices have to include tax (in Europe usually around 20%). Hence the price difference.
That makes total sense, thanks. It's not uncommon with US software companies. Now I'll upgrade!
