Please, can anyone tell me how to disable Groupy for Windows Explorer on Windows 11. No matter what I do, Groupy is still showing on the top of Explorer. I ticked: "Automatically exclude from auto grouping..." Anyone?

I'm also having this problem, but I'd prefer to fix the issue rather than disabling the feature. Window version here is 22H2 Build 22621.1702, Groupy is 2.12 and for one last tidbit of information, the Windows update "October 10, 2023—KB5031354 (OS Build 22621.2428)" made a mess of Explorer, breaking dark mode & rendering much of the toolbar unreadable, so I've uninstalled it & hidden it..

I was just thinking it might be due to the presence of the Quick Access toolbar when I realised that I'd managed to enable the Windows 10 style ribbon - and now I can't work out how to get the new Win 11 style ribbon back!
Please refer back to them that told you how to change the new style to Win10 style ribbon. They, I think, the best people to answer your question on this one.
Yeah, thing is - I didn't think it'd worked, and I don't remember what I did to make it happen... what started this whole thing was a bad update that didn't play well with the Windows 11 file explorer ribbon in dark mode... prior to that, I was happy enough with Groupy 1...
So I managed to fix the explorer ribbon, but still no luck integrating the tabs...
Try this:
Please try the following:
-For Win8/10 Users: Open the Start Screen, and type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator' from below.
-For 7 Users: click Start, in the start search field type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator'.
-Type: sfc /scannow
-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)

If the SFC finds errors, but cannot fix them, please also run the following command in the same command prompt window:

Tried scf, it found one file & repaired it - btmodem.sys, so probably not related.So I gave dism.exe a try anyway, that did nothing as far as I could tell.I also uninstalled & reinstalled Groupy 2 because at one point when I installed it, the tabs were integrated in the background during the installation process, but as soon as I made a change to the settings, they moved above the titlebar...
Anyway, I'm stumped... What's the next step?
Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

Umm, the purge batch file didn't work correctly. It didn't force the reboot it said it would, and I was greeted with an instance of Groupy when I manually rebooted...

Looking back on your first post. I think the Windows update might have something to do with it. My Windows 11 system already have the KB5031354 updates and I don't see issue with it. Might be something went wrong while you're updating your system with it. What you can do is to try that update again. And use this guide to help updating: https://www.minitool.com/news/kb5031354-fails-to-install-in-windows-11.html. If that still fail than please consider to do a fresh Windows install.
Nope, I'm not doing that, mostly because I already have done most of that, and it didn't end well..
I wasn't able to resolve the issue the bad update created, so my Windows was freshly installed. And of course the update came down again & messed things up again, but this time I was able to determine it was the update that caused it. So I uninstalled the update & so far, apart from Groupy, everything's been fine. I've shitcanned that update with the WHSHOWHIDE app,
And no, I am not doing another fresh install of Windows to get Groupy working as it's supposed to straight out the box. Not happening.

Looks about normal to me. No native tabs - I never went down that rabbit hole because I was running Groupy 1, and wanted to group more than just Explorer windows. Maybe I tweaked a registry setting to get rid of them when they became part of Windows 11?
Your screenshot without Groupy do look different.
This is what my Explorer look like when I disable groupy. Notice the ribbon part is below the address bar. Yours, the ribbon on the above the address bar and no explorer tabs. So, I bet what you did changed your Explorer and causing Groupy not to function properly. It best if you could revert to default Windows 11 explorer and let Groupy handle things for the Explorer tabs.
I don't suppose you've got any ideas how to revert Explorer without doing a reinstall of Windows? Restoring the defaults via the Options dialog doesn't achieve anything..
I am not familiar with how to get back to default. Maybe you can undo the registry tweaked you done, usually registry tweak guide steps also include on how to undo it.
