The only way I can accurately see the Zone of Control for each empire is to turn on the grid-visible-zoomed-out option and look at the color of the hex-grid.
Those borders absolutely do not represent the actual Zone of Control, and it's been like this since the most recent patch.
Seriously, what's going on here...?
I've been seeing the same sort of thing, although perhaps not as bad as your examples.
I'm also noticing that the ZOCs aren't quite as affected as they used to be.
I mean, I conquer all of the planets within 20 or so hexes, place Culture starbases along the border, study Influence techs out the wazoo and be #1 in tech across the galaxy...and all of that territory is still surrounded by the enemy's ZOC, which hasn't budged an inch.
I mean, I hate to say it, but the game is nigh unplayable at this point.
I think I have the same. Though I do not know what the difference is between ZOC and a border of influence. However I also often don't see a planets border of influence.
Ps. Can someone explain the difference between ZOC and a border, because I now clearly see that the grids of certain empires are overlapping with the influence border of others?
Same thing, really, unless they've changed it radically since the last version.
But, as far as I know, the only difference between border and ZOC is that the border is that bright line surrounding your ZOC. So it's just different aspects of the same thing.
And that border should only appear around the hexes in your ZOC.
