Are the tabs supposed to be in the same order when you load a group? I would think so. I suppose I can understand that Groupy can't control when programs load and become useable, but then, since you can drag and reorder manually, I would think it could do that programically. I'm a bit surprised I couldn't find anyone else mentioning this.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please provide more information on your system. Please refer here: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1349713948/Groupy+Self-Support+Options. Also have you tried Groupy V2.11?
Basj,Stardock Community Assistant.
Basj,
* I'm using Groupy 2.1. I checked for an update and the app said my copy of Groupy2 is up to date.
* This is a new issue, but seemed to have started when I added Chrome and Bing. However, if I remove them and save the group, the other programs are still out of order. In fact, the order changes every time I load.
* To reproduce:
1. Create a group and order the tabs
2. Save the group
3. Load the group and the tabs will be in a different order
I can't seem to reproduce your issue. Refer to video below.
Thank you,
Basj,Stardock Community Assistant
Try using some larger applications including a browser like Chrome, Edge, etc. I suspect the problem is that the tabs are placed in the order that their windows appear, which can be different than the order that they are launched.
Hello,I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
Here's an example using some bigger applications.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPvOHTos0hI
Order before saving:1. Total Commander2. Evernote3. Simplenote4. Notepad++5. Edge6. Chrome
Order after loading:1. Edge (was 5)2. Evernote (same)3. Total Commander (was 1)4. Simplenote (was 3)5. Notepad++ (was 4)6. Chrome (same)
Definitely a problem. Your example used really small fast loading apps. That is probably why you couldn't reproduce the error.

Sean,
I don't see any changes relating to the order of tabs. The closest one I can see is about renamed tabs, but that is not the problem. The problem is the ordering after loading.
Let me know if I'm just missing the change you are referring to. Thanks.
I can confirm Tab ordering does work now.

EDIT2: Although you still have to resave the group if you make changes to tab positions (or any other change for that matter)
I assume you mean it's working with the 2.11 beta. That's good.
I installed Beta 2.11 and my tabs still don't load the right order. (yes, I resaved I'm pretty sure it depends on how quickly the applications load. Groupy launches the apps in the order saved, but places the tabs in the order their windows are shown. It least that's my guess. Try adding an large application (Chrome, Office app, etc.) that takes a bit to load and place it towards the front.
You're likely correct. I have a group of 6 IDE's that load fairly large projects. Each one takes around 5 seconds or so to fully load and open. But yes Tabs should be reordered after the last one is added. I would like to see groupy launch each item hidden and then size them only showing the entire group at once but I doubt that's doable.
On a side note I have mentioned as a feature a variable/ configurable startup delay. Perhaps a per group setting that would allow us to add a 3-5 second delay to each launch. I know that would greatly delay the entire group but as a 'default off' option would work wonders in my case (and sounds like yours as well).
