When I open a saved group of browsers They open with all the last used open tabs as they should, but I always get the original tabs open when the group was created.
If I leave these all open the same happens again so that The originals are always created , So I can end up with multiple copies of these tabs!
I have to delete all those tabs every time to stop getting multiple copies. But I still get them back every time I open the group.
I assume this sort of thing only happens with browsers and I assume that if I create a new group of browsers and don't open any tabs before I save them this would work.
haha! I tried doing that and it works. I'm sure that this is a bug though.
So you can't have any browser tabs open when you create a new group of browsers!

Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Not really sure with your issue. Need to know more.
ThanksBasj,Stardock Community Assistant.
I have this same problem in both Chrome and Edge on Win 11 23H2. Groupy seems to re-open not just the browser window, but all the tabs that were open in the browser the last time it was closed. Modern browsers allow users to select no tabs to be saved, or a pre-defined set of tabs in the browser, or the tabs that were open when the browser was closed. Groupy seems to try to re-open tabs that were open at the last time you saved the Groupy group. That behavior is undesired - the browser already does that. I cannot find a setting to turn off this behavior in groupy, making it almost unusable for browsers. I just had to close 47 tabs because Groupy re-opened them all (when the browser itself had already opened them).
How can Groupy users turn off this behavior in Groupy?
I now have the same issue with Groupy2. My browser tabs that were open when I saved the group now open everytime I open the group. Even the pinned tabs open again. So I have double the tabs opening in the browser. I think Groupy2 is looking at the open processes and not just one opened application. It is a mess. Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please post a video of this issue happening so that we can understand it better.
Since nobody else has posted a video I went ahead and made one. I've been using the trial for one day and I've found this bug and another one related to the tab colors. If these two can get fixed before my trial is up I'll definitely buy. I almost just completely gave up on the software and I fear many other people who came across this same issue probably did and never let you know. Hopefully fixing this problem will increase the number of people buying Groupy 2 because it's a pretty cool program but we gotta get the bugs fixed.

In this screenshot you can see the same four tabs get opened again every time the Edge browser is closed and opened again. It doesn't matter how many tabs I have open, it will open another copy of the tabs every time.
Just to follow up for people with a similar issue:
If you go into the Groupy setting and edit the group, you'll see the .groupy text file with the settings for that group. You can delete the urls for all the tabs you had open when you created the group and they won't automatically open. There needs to be a setting in Groupy to enable or disable this feature but currently there's not.
So for example, I have this line:
CommandLine= --profile-directory=Default --new-window https://www.ign.com https://www.cnn.com
Just delete "--new-window https://www.ign.com https://www.cnn.com" and it won't open those two URLS as tabs.
Thank you SOOOOOOO much! Obviously this should be accessible in the UI, but for those who aren't sure where the config files are, I found mine in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Groupy
I'm glad this was able to help others as well. You can also quickly edit any saved group from the Groupy configuration app by going to "Grouping rules" and then "Saved Group". Just right-click on the group you want to edit and pick "Edit saved group".
