Today we are announcing that we will be retiring the Master Skinner’s program on Wincustomize. As we continue to modernize our platform and services, this change is required to help us move more efficiently forward.
What this change means is that any of the community skins on Wincustomize will continue to be offered for free. Any premium skins offered by our Master Skinners program are being removed from the site starting today.
If you have previously purchased any skins from Wincustomize, you will still be able to download them from your Stardock account. And if there are skins that you would like to purchase, we recommend reaching out directly to the Master Skinners.
Going forward, you will continue to see Stardock support WindowBlinds and the community. A few weeks ago we released a new skin for WindowBlinds 11 called Fluent Luna and expect to release several more in the coming months.
Can my Master Skins just be converted to community skins? I don't have any of the files anymore, so I can't possibly repost them.
Mike, that will happen if you send an email or pm to Brad Sams stating you wish to leave the skins for general, free access.
Good to see you here again, Mike!
Does that mean we will see a modernized Wincustomize in the future?
Thanks, DrJBHL! Will do!
So in future if we wish to purchase new Master Skins, we go to the Master skinners themselves ? Is That Correct.
I don't know about other Master Skinners naroon1, but I will still try selling my skins to keep helping the poor and needy as I always have. I may try selling on my Facebook page (advertising skins available in the forums here too) but I will only be able to accept payments to PayPal. Once a person orders a skin and I receive an email from PayPal, I will email the skin to the purchasers PayPal email address. I am also looking into having my own web site, but it looks like I got SCAMMED by what I thought was a reputable company out of a LOT of money. I even did a lot of research on them first!
If I were you, naroon1, I'd get in touch with the Masters whose work you're interested in via WinCustomize's private messaging system and inquire how to establish secure communication with them (for your and their protection) and how they plan to continue commerce.
I recommend doing this soon as it isn't certain (as far as I know) who'll be visiting and how often.
That has to suck, Tom. There are so many scumbags across the Web out to scam people. That's why I'm somewhat paranoid about giving up personal information to ANY site, reputable or not. I really feel for you.
Thanks very much Reaper.
I recently "attempted" to purchase some bicycle parts advertised via Facebook and handed over 130 GBP or around $250 AUD via Paypal....and....
....crickets.....
I put a 'complaint' through the Paypal site portal...and let them do their thing.
Last communication I got from the vendor before he blocked me on Facebook was how I'd sent him a rude email....it was a 'form letter'...you click on the options in Paypal...they send it.
About 4 weeks or so later I got the $250 returned to my account....
Hey! That's some good news, anyway.

Glad to hear you got your money back Paul, I just finished opening a PayPal dispute too. Hope I get my money back!
Sorry you were cheated in the past, Tom. Better luck with your current prob.
Just got my Amazon refund. Feels good to win one here and there.
I have used PayPal a lot. Everything i bought from adni18 was through PayPal (I have almost everything he ever sold/made) and I must have bought at least 200+ vinyl records from different sellers via Discogs and other sites and record stores/companies. Always got a refund when something wasn't right.
(And I must add: Buying from adni18 has always worked like a charm, and no wonder there, if there ever was a gentleman, he's the man and such a great friend)
Oh LightStar, Very Sorry to here about that bud, you do not deserve it considering all the skins revenue goes to help those in need.
My site uses Namecheap as my Host, very good prices (i have just renewed my own), there customer support is fine too. Right now, they have been doing server work , but luckily, none of it has effected my site. Please do not be put off going down this route, as your work needs a good place to make it known to maybe more buyers. Pay Pal would be a fine option should i need to purchase, thank you for all you do, and those who you help.
Hear, hear. Nikos is not only a superb artist. He's a friend and a true gentleman. We're in 100% agreement, Jan.
You may look into Gumroad. Some people sell their selfmade themes there. very easy to handle and to purchase from.Wikipedia
Thanks Carl! Never heard of them, but will definitely check them out!
oh... I was hoping my master skins would stay on the site for people to download?
While SD is on holiday until July 12th, if you pm Brad Sams asking SD to do that I'm pretty sure they'll try, Vamps. I'll try leave them a message, too.
yeah, I messaged brad sams...so should be all good.
I left a message as well, Vamps. Hopefully it'll get get done.
I see this as blast in the face. One to cut all the Master skins at time of announcement isn't cool. The community would have loved to have some heads ups. 2nd I am a journeyman and had hopes of achieving master status at some date. All that is out the window. Thanks for blowing up my world.
