If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions. If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Resolved auto-grouping issue with Notepad and similar Store apps
Tweaked how some rules are linked to windows
Tooltip in Excel when resizing rows or selecting multiple rows should now not vanish when you have more than one Excel window in a Group
Added drop-down menu to new tab button and made new tab button show on all windows. For those which do not support new tabs (or are unknown) it only shows a menu, otherwise, it is a split button keeping the new tab a one-click operation.
Added support to use Ctrl-N in apps that support creating new windows. This will override whatever the app does. Exclusions are possible by holding down shift when opening the Groupy menu and using the new menu item at the bottom of the menu.

Resolved a problem with the close button on the tab bar not being entirely clickable in some circumstances.
Dragging the groupy tab bar (not the ungrouped one) will now allow Windows Snap features to work in most cases. There may be some windows that do not support this or situations when using screen recording apps where it may not be enabled.
MS Edge saved apps will now save correctly in groups. You will need to resave existing groups that contain those apps.
New option to delete saved groups from the config window.
Inactive tabs for integrated tab mode now have slightly greyed-out text making them more obvious.
A number of fixes for tab text color when in light and dark mode.
When in no background tabs on top mode maximized active tabs will maintain the colored tab look rather than the non-colored look.
Clicking the settings icon in Notepad will no longer result in a tab mispaint on Windows 11.
Accent colors can now be saved for universal apps correctly.
Resolved a crash in Notepad when turning off Groupy.
New option to force Groupy to think a window is either Light or Dark mode. The setting is saved per process. This is useful for Terminal which tells Groupy it is in Dark mode always, or Spotify which has a dark window but is marked as a light mode window.
Resolved issue with Notepad not opening documents from Explorer as new tabs in Notepad when replacing native tabs is disabled in Groupy.
Adjusted Groupy bar border color on MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook to match those apps.
Added right-click menu on saved groups to offer access to directly edit the Groupy file or make it easier to access for support reasons.
Fixed the issue with clicking on the config window when the activation screen is up causing the activation screen to get stuck under the window on Windows 11.
Resolved issue with some UI parts not supporting translation correctly.
Altered how saved groups are launched to prevent multiple groups from being launched at once.
Altered how saved group rules work to prevent some leftover rules from being used in the future in error.
Resolved an issue with saving tab names for multiple identical processes in a single group not always saving correctly.
Added option when in always autohide tab mode to pin a specific group to be always visible.
Added an option to advanced UI settings to make tabs square for those who prefer that look.
Tweaked some taskbar handling to see if that helps with Start11 hanging the taskbar for some people.
Saved Groups
Because how some apps (most notably, app'd browser instances of websites and Windows Store apps) are now written to saved groups, it will be necessary to delete \ recreate them for them to work correctly. This will be the 1st thing we ask if you notice issues here - if you deleted and recreated them.
Known issues
While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows.

Yaaay! Happy to report that the issue where Discord (a chrome window) was jumping out of its group whenever I opened a new Chrome window is no longer happening!
Very happy with this build!Saved group (Whatsapp+Teams+Zoom+DiscordChrome) still doesn't work though.

If a custom color is chosen for the "Unfocused background bar," when the window is unfocused, the tab text is white; when the window is focused, the tab text color is black.

It looks like the issue is the active bar is not painting as mica but thinks it should be.
I found that if I play with the "Focused background bar" settings between "Mica Style" vs. "Frame color" the text will be readable. It all depends on what color the "Unfocused background bar" is set.
We believe that any app which shows a splash screen which is identical in window class and flagged to be shown on the taskbar will be grouping from a saved group correctly right now. Teams is certainly one of those and Discord probably too. Basically all written using the same framework.
This should be addressed for the next update.
I've found three issues in Beta 2:
CTRL + N to open a new Tab instead of a new Window doesn't seem to work in Windows Explorer. It opens a new Window, not a new Tab.
Settings - Grouping Settings - Use CTRL+N to open a new tab (when possible) is enabled, of course.
Pressing CTRL + T in Windows Explorer adds a new Tab Bar on top. Not sure if I've missed a setting, but it seems unnecessary for me to have two Tab Bars instead of just one. The top Tab Bar is from Groupy, the lower one seems to be the default Explorer Tabs, even though "Replace File Explorer and Windows Notepad tabs" is enabled.
With just one Tab open, everything looks normal and pressing the new Tab button works as expected and doesn't add the second tab bar.
Under Groupy Settings - Grouping settings I've enabled "Middle clicking on a tab closes that tab". However, that option got reset to "Middle clicking on a tab opens a new tab where possible" after restarting Windows Explorer. This only happened once and I haven't been able to reproduce that bug, so maybe it was just a one-time thing.
My system:
Windows 11, version 22H2 (Build 22621.1778). I'm not using any Insider/Beta versions of Windows 11.
Feature Request:
Would it be possible to add an option to use CTRL+T instead of CTRL+N to open a new Tab?
This is my preferred configuration. I also used this configuration in Groupy 1.5, however, in Groupy 2 there is a dark gray line between the Tab bar and the window which does not appear in 1.5.

Facing issues randomly when maximizing and minimizing with a group of chrome and adobe reader tabs...sometimes there is a space left at the top above the title bar even though its in maximized state(tabs were in always hide mode) usually minimizing and maximizing back solves the space problem..BUT then the chrome tab does not open and when returning back to the adobe reader window the title bar flickers like its trying to show the chrome tab but it could not .....and i have to close everything and regroup back again. kinda really buggy right now but I have high hopes for this software and its potential

no no thing of that sort, I'm just a normal user. I had a course to learn and was switching between tabs to make my study easier but groupy "sometimes" really get buggy
Hey guys sorry I've been away for a bit. Been dealing with some serious life issues. I have been lurking however and noticed Groupy is getting some love. I've played with both beta versions for a while now and have a few "bugs" and some features if anyone is interested. I'm also including a few videos of what I've seen thus far. Hope this helps. I'm still not able to work on things full time yet but I am getting there so I should be able to participate more in the coming days/weeks.
** BUGS**
1. Saving new states such as size/pos or new tabs using the Group->Save Group menu item fails.
2. When using a single taskbar button the taskbar is constantly being updated during group startup and shutdown.
A. Perhaps start each tab process hidden then create/destroy the single taskbar button once and then show the active window.
B. Like above when closing a group each tab is closed separately perhaps hide all tab windows and close them one at a time
And then remove the taskbar button. Making it appear to close ALL tabs at once.
3. When opening a group that was maximized with tabs on top the tab bar overlaps the caption of the tab windows.
4. When adding a new tab the shadow tab window (the one that shows where the new tab will be inserted) is not always dismissed after the new tab is added. Sometimes the "Insert tab here" tab item remains and after moving the group you can see the full size translucent blue window until the desktop repaints. (Note this could be an issue with my system and drivers still currently investigating)
5. Consider adding an Adjustable delay for tabs. Some programs (ones that open files passed as command line) take a while to open and in some cases (I see this A lot) causes a group to either open split with a few in one group and a few in another or having one or more not grouped at all. I have a group that has 6 IDE's and sometimes i will see a group with 2, another with 3, and a single ungrouped IDE open. Perhaps adding a delay between starting each process will allow the previous IDE to fully load before launching the next. Combine with hidding each until the entire group is launched would make for a smoother launching experience. (Might also need to add some sort of splash screen Optional of course)
6. When using groupy with explorer/notepad tabs The tab text on active tabs is always white. Without it the text color follows windows color scheme/theme (In my case black atm).
** Feature requests **
1. Starting with the best first I would like to see full tab wells. A similar system to Visual Studio (as well as others). Allowing both Vertical and Horizontal wells. Allowing for opening separate tabs or entire groups. I.e File->Group->New Vertical Group ... As well as "Move to next/previous Group" etc... I'm sure the scope for this would likely not come until another version but it would be great.
2. Ability to have NO taskbar button at all. The tab bar is itself a mini taskbar having the option to not have it on the main taskbar would be nice.
3. Instead of simply opening the group file when selecting "Edit group" consider adding a UI based editor.
4. As for updating groups. I would like to see a groups values (size/pos/tabs etc..) updated upon closing. For example resizing a group and then closing it should update the stored values instead of manually selecting "Save Group".
5. I would like to see the tab peek ability include the entire size of the group. For example when hovering a tab the entire group acts like the desktop showing the tabs window fully inside the size of the group. The small popup display is not enough to determine the tab windows content when using many tabs of the same type (especially and IDE where each display is just lines of code). If not that then perhaps an option to adjust the size of the preview popup to something about 2.5/3x larger. This would also go a long way in conjunction with the "No taskbar button" option above.
I'm so glad to see groupy getting some love. I'm excited with how it's going so far as groupy is one of the apps I have been using daily since its first release. Can't wait to see where it goes from here.

I hope to be able to close all tabs with the close button in the upper right corner, just like in Chrome browser. I have set the middle mouse button to close tabs, in order to use the file explorer in a way that is as close as possible to using a browser.

Hello,If you set Groupy "Place tabs above" and tab apperance set "add a background bar to the tabs" turn on. You will have a close all button on that background bar. Refer screenshot below.
