I would really love the ability to go into singleplayer and replace the human player with an AI and spectate. It would be a lot of fun to watch a big game with max difficulty AI fight each other, I think. I think it's sad it was never a thing in Rebellion and would love it to be a thing here!
Hey, thanks for sharing this idea!Let me guess, do you like watching those civ/stellaris ai only games on youtube?
I actually didn't know you could do that in those games, never tried it! I might do it with Stellaris now that you mention it!
But actually I was in a weird spot where I was craving playing some Sins but didn't have the mental capacity to actually play, so I thought it would be a lot of fun to open a huge map with high level AI (I initially wanted to try this with the Maelstrom mod in Rebellion, since it adds a lot more factions.) and just see what happens.
I think the capability of having these watchable AI matches would be a lot of fun for multiple people, and could even be a way to learn more about strategy or just how the AI works in general (yeah I know I could just watch actual human strategy videos, but that's not nearly as fun in my opinion ).
We use that mode internally to watch the Ai behavior but will consider making it available to the public at a later date
Great idea!
I would be happy to see how AI fight with each other and learn something than watching TV
+1
AI vs AI watch will be funny
+1 to this! Playing the game is fun of course, but sometimes I just like to sit back and watch the beautiful space battles in this game. I do this "AI vs AI" manually at the moment by selecting a map, then having 2 or more AIs in two teams, then I just scuttle all my stuff and click continue play. But this doesn't work on 2 player maps.
