If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions. If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.
Thank you for your interest and any time you put into making Start11 a better product.

so when i click on the start button and try to click on a program or shortcut, nothing happens... when i exit out then hit the start button again then it works....
Hey team,
I'm reporting these alignment issues in the taskbar after KB5022913. The clock area and search box are displayed outside the monitor.
Windows 11 Pro
Version 22H2
OS build 22621.1344
Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22639.1000.0
Start11 1.41
Taskbars on Top and displayed for both laptop and external monitor.
Issue occurs only on external monitor. Laptop monitor looks fine.
Buttons are set to never combined and appear correctly.
With explorer restart issue is corrected.
After computer restart, hibernate, or external monitor reconnected, issue returns.
Thanks for checking.
..and keep it up very happy with the product.
I keep having this issue since then. I am using Windows 11 22621.1344 and start 11 version 14.1. using dual monitor. main monitor connected via display port (1920x1080), while 2nd one connected via HDMI (900x1440).
BUG: if i use this configuration on my 2nd monitor and small taskbar. there is a gap between taskbar and bottom window as shown in the attached picture.
The way i solve this is by change it to medium size taskbar, restart start11, change it to small size taskbar, and restart start11.
However, it keep appearing after reboot.
so i started my pc this morning. but forgot to do the screen dance (switch them off and start them after starting start11). it went funny as per previous posts.,. i rolled my eyes and walked away. came back a while later and it was all working again. so seems if you give it enough time to fight with explorer it actualy works
If you check the first page of this thread Sean has posted a link to a beta 1.42.
I would be curious if this helps as it has some multiple monitor startup tweaks.
I'm using 1.4.11. Windows Version 22651.1344. My Windows Button is centered (experimental), 2 Monitors.
Here come the issue:
Right click on the windows buttons opens the context menu always on the left site of the monitor and not above the button.
This behavior is since I had to switch from Version 1.39 because of the momentum 2 Update from Microsoft.
Exact Windows Version:
Version 22H2 OS Build 22621.1344
Detailed step to recreate the issue:
I believed this issue only occurred after the update of Start11 1.39.1. The supposedly transparent background of the icons in the tile (Windows 10 style) is now black, except for windows apps. Example is below:
My settings for Start11 menu font size is 130%, and the size for the shortcut icon size is small. I have tried different combinations, it seems that only when the apparent icon size (as menu font size enlarge the icon looking) is huge enough, I can see the transparent background again. However, then, the size is just uncomfortable. Here are screenshots of the configurations for my start11.
Hope this info is enough and thank you in advance if you can help me on this issue.
Noticing explorer.exe restart a number of times on startup, after restarting Windows 11 Home laptop (or sometimes after a shut down). Start11 eventually stabilises. Not sure what is causing this, but only noticed since updating.
Windows 11 21H2 build 22000.1574Start11 1.41ObjectDock 2.20.0.862Hi, when launching Start11 startmenu from the startmenu docklet of ObjectDock, it is not screen centered but appears left/right of the mouse cursor. For example my startmenu docklet is all the way right on objectdock, start11 is left of that mouse cursor postition. That means, when using fullscreen it is partial out of the screen.
How many monitors do you have and what exact version of Windows 11?
Also is there anything in the Windows eventlog?
Greetings,
I have just updated my computer to Windows 22H2 22621.1344. I held off, as there was evidence that the latest version created issues with desktop enhancements.
I read that Stardock released version 1.41 which was (my guess) created to be compatible with Windows update KBKB5022913. So, I installed the MS update and then updated Start11. The update did not seem to add any complications or issues other than what you see below.
Prior to the update, when I right clicked on the centred Start button, the menu showed above the button. Are you folks going to fix this? It really stands out, and not in a terrific way. Start11 is an amazing product. Adjusting the location of the right click menu will keep it that way. Having said all that, there may be those who prefer it by itself away from everything else. If that's the case, make it an option.
Thanks,
Graham

Ok, I rolled back to an older version of Start 11 and I have no system tray or clock. 3 monitors. I know it's a beta. Will we get back the 3rd monitor functionality, eventually? If not, I'm done with WB11 and Start11.
-RND-
I assume your comment is specifically about the experimental centre everything mode?
Rolling back a build wouldn't help as we had to change things for the newer taskbar, rolling back just brought back the issues we had to work around. If you rolled back the optional Windows update you installed you would have been better off.
Out of interest what exactly is your monitor setup in terms of resolutions?
It is still something we are investigating as unfortunately changes in the OS restrict things a little more than before, one of the reasons that feature was marked as experimental as we knew OS changes might take it out entirely.
Unfortunately ObjectDock is not supported on Windows 11
The native menu not working right when the taskbar has the searchbox enabled is addressed in the 1.42 beta linked to on the first page of this thread.
Thanks but my original post question is that I have to hit the start button twice before any of the programs or shortcuts work.. I have uninstalled snd reinstalled and same issue on all my devices
I'm guessing if I rolled back the windows update, it would only be a matter of time until it's forced on me?
Worst case scenario, I will still test WBs for people on a single monitor system I have.
still similar issues. only now the startmenu and the taskbar have "solid" backgrounds but the rest of the taskbar is transparent (still the same non clickable / half the sys tray icons missing (like steam)) and no quicklaunch.
And you'd be right.
Good morning,
Windows 11 2261.1344, Start11 v1.4.11
I would like to share my observations on the appearance of elements in start11.
I don't mean anything bad, but why does StartAllBack look better with the correct weather widget and a small scaled start menu button after applying a small taskbar?
I hope you will take this into account in future versions of the program
Start11:
StartAllBack:
In addition, there is a large gap between the start menu and the taskbar, and the distance of the start menu does not scale to the small taskbar:
Greetings.
Sadly, I am having problems with the taskbar taking up about 25% of the bottom portion of the screen and icons are misaligned there as well.
A screen shot is below showing the problem.
HW/SW details:
Start11 Version: 1.41 (latest I believe) - re-downloaded and installed this AM.
Windows 11:Version: 22H2 (OS Build 2261.1265)
Hardware: Lenovo Yoga with a 4K touchscreen running at 3840x2160 resolution, scale factor of 200%
Tried uninstalling KB52022913 but problem remains.
Looked for beta version but could not find a link
Cannot use Start11 with these issues, any ideas?
It looks like you just accidentally dragged your taskbar to be multiple rows.
You can resize it down to one row by clicking on the edge of the taskbar and dragging down. If you have locked the taskbar (check by right clicking the taskbar blank area) then unlock it first.
Different apps do things differently which is why there are differences. For example that start button may well be a picture of the original rather than the native start button hence the scaling difference and I suspect that weather widget isn't the native one either. There are pros and cons of each approach.
With regards to the offset, this appears to be an issue with the new version of Windows when you use a small taskbar and the OS menu rather than the Start11 one. We have addressed this for the next update so thankyou for reporting it.
