I tried installing a CursorFX package from a suite I recently purchased. At first installation attempt, after extracting it from the zip file, I got a pop up window stating it installed the cursors. When the CursorFX program opened up, the cursors I tried to install weren't listed. I tried it a couple more times with same results.
I then tried restarting my computer, redownloading and tried to install it again. Now after extracting it from the downloaded zip file, I'm getting an error window that says "We couldn't install "(cursors name)- Access is denied."
I didn't put in the CursorFX package name because I'm not trying to blast the creator. I sent him a similar PM to see if he had any others reporting issues with the cursor package.
Any help would be appreciated or direction towards help.
Thank you.
Place the CursorFX file here:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\CursorFX\Themes
Then open the CursorFX config window and it should show up.
Whole new problem. I looked inside the CursorFX\Themes folder. It was already there. Opened the CursorFX config window. Still wasn't listed. Tried double-clicking the .cursorfx file within the folder, it tells me it's already installed.
I then deleted the one in the folder and tried copying it again. Still won't display in the CursorFX config window.
Redownloaded zip file. Copied it into folder again. Still won't display in the CursorFX config window. Deleted it from the folder.
Waiting on the creator to send me the .cursorfx file directly through email. Looked back into the CursorFX\Themes folder and seen the last .cursorfx file listed. I looked into the CursorFX config window and realized that the last .cursorfx file listed in the CursorFX\Themes folder isn't displaying either.
I have not yet, but I'm almost to the point of uninstalling/reinstalling CursorFX. I now am under the assumption there's a fault in the CursorFX program or config winow.
This is a known bug.
In the Themes folder create a duplicate of the smallest (size) theme and rename it "ZzzLast". This new theme is now the last theme in the folder and will not show up in CursorFX configuration settings. All of your other installed themes will now show up in CursorFX.

Go into your CursorFX Themes folder and copy any theme and paste it into the same folder. Rename it ZZZ.CursorFX. Now all your installed themes should show. The bug that CursorFX don't show all themes has been reported a long time ago, but is yet to be fixed.
Thank you. This also resolved an issue I have had for some time. I tried to install the "Wulfin" cursorfx theme quite some time ago and had the same problem as the OP. I just gave up on it and moved on. There were so many other cursor themes to d/l that it didn't really bother me too much one way or the other. Now reading your post, I decided to give your advice a whirl on my own system and sure enough the "Wulfin" theme is now there, ready to use!
Yeah, I did near exactly that. I just copied another one and named it Z something or another. I am just getting back into WinCustomize after a Windows OS or two break. Thank you all for your assistance. Seems it cleared up for couple of others too.
