Please, Dear Stardock, continue the development and update the WindowsFX, one of your best and one the most underratted of your programs. there is much to be done, full compatibility with windows 11 22h2, fixes for various apps etc....
Hello,I have forwarded your request to the Stardock Support Team for their review and recommendations. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We really do appreciate your feedback, Thanks

I couldn't agree more. I love WindowFX but noticed it has some issues. While it isn't completely broken there is definitely some work needed. I would also think that it should be one of the included programs with OD. Perhaps replacing one of the other outdated ones still included. (I'm looking at you IconPackager).
Could you be more specific about the issues you have encountered?
In what way is it not compatible with 22H2 for example and what apps have a problem with it?
I haven't installed it on W11 yet. I only just installed 11 since i decided to wait for 22H2. However in w10 There are some issues when using wobbly windows. After a short while (a few hours or so) when moving a window there is a large delay between the initial move (click then drag) before it begins the wobble effect and when released there is no "wind down" from the effect. Instead it just "snaps" back as if the effect was suddenly turned off.
It almost acts like a GDI handle leak (i.e the process runs out of available handles) but i don't think it is (could be wrong) as most other effects still work fine.
Mostly everything else works the way they were intended to I would just like to see some other things like new effects etc..
One thing I'm not sure where it would be placed (WindowFX, Start11, etc...) is it looks like W11 has removed animations from desktop switching. It would be nice to have that added back. Again not sure which program that would be better suited for.
I'll toss it on 22H2 before too long and see what else, if anything, might be looked at.
Only real issue I have seen, and I use WinFX as heavily as I use WindowBlinds, is I usually get double start menus, as in, I get one, and then another very close together and they become one. (Clear as mud?)
Of course it has been a known issue for years, that any animations on the start menu created by the WB skinner appear behind the start menu.
I see no app specific issues other than the above, which may be a FX/WB issue, or possibly a FX/Start10/11 issue.
One of my favorites from Stardock, can't wait for an update soon
WindowFX 6.13 Beta Issue Thread
I've encountered many issues.
I specifically remember these:
1) MAJOR Rockstar's Launcher installer wan;t install rockstar;s launcher as long as windowsfx is active...
this is huge failure man, rockstar launcher is the home of the games red dead redemption II and all of the GTAs.....
Billions of users are using them, how you missed this?????
2) of the major game clients (steam, rockstar, ea origin, epic, battle.net etc) most of the windows work fine BUT theyre
NOT OBEYING windowsfx settings , they don't animate at all any choice you made for animations on windowsfx
3) I've the suspicion that
1))))))many programs installed on c:\Program files\ have also problem to animate according to windowsfx
settings (there i also have installed my game clients.....) but i can't recall specific cases
and 2)))))) programs minimised to tray have also problems like animate minimise/close BUT NOT open /restore OR they don't animate at all
4) (SPECIFIC PROGRAM) the program DVB Viewer (is used to play free TV from usb tv sticks or pci cards) obeys only on
minimise/close animation settings and NOT AT ALL at open/restore...
5)(SPECIFIC PROGRAM) the program Net Limiter (is used to control the speed of download or upload of the pc applications
so you can for example download while streamming video - if the program you download doesn't have a setting for limiting
download speed or it doen't behave well ) behaves similarly like DVB Viewer. animates minimise/close BUT NOT open /restore.
==============================================
I'm on windows 11 22H2 fully updated, i5-11400, 16mb ram, nvidia 3050 latest drivers, samsung sataIII ssd 512gb for system drive.
ALL Net is installed/ ALL (literally ALL) vc++ runtimes.
FROM THE ABOVE IS EASILY TO UNDERSTAND THAT WINDOWSFX ALGORITHM NEEDS UPDATES, as it fails in many cases
to animate windows on various reasons (specific incompatibility, installation folder, tray). more interesting is that
while DVBviewer is an app that continuously plays video and maybe problems the Netlimiter app is a perfectly common desktop
app BUT windowsfx fails to work with it...
I hope this will help as an example...

aliou1600,
I cannot reproduce any of your first 3 issue. Below is a link to a video of me using Rockstar's Launcher, Steam, and Epic

What version of WindowFX are you running?
Paul ScrogginsAssociate Technical Support Analyst
version 6.12. is the version to blame or maybe you have installed steam NOT on c:\Program Files\ and maybe you tried the animations from the taskbar and NOT from the tray??? also take care that i'm on windows version localized in greek....
Please, check also these cases.....
HELP?
i myself will try a restart (again......) and come back.
after restart, with many open apps, steam rockstar, all major game clients, animate on open/restore But not on minimise/close where they show the default windows 11 animation. Is because of the specific effect I use?? (slide to/from bottom) is because of the directory theyare installed? (c:\Program Files) Is because Iuse a localised windows 11 version??? (greek language)
also steam behaves glitchy as i restore from the system tray icon: it restores with default windows animation but minimises to tray with a strange behavior: it someway makes steam app window bigger (when it is small) and then minimises according to windowsfx
animation...
I can't think of an app that causes these sideeffects to windowsfx....
I just installed windowsfx beta 6.13-j13 but no luck- steam still glitchy , on close/minimise it shows a second stream windows, replica of the original with bigger size but not maximised that obeys the windows fx animation, and it does instantly and then the steam replica windows disappear but the original small steam window minimises witht he default windows animation....
from both taskbat and tray icon(restore from tray icon, can;t minimise from tray)
take care that many *modal* windows from many desktop apps (small windows that convey argent messages and yo umust respond
while main window is unreachable) are glitchy as well = when i minimise they suddenly zoom in (with the same size) and then the
glitched window obeys windowsfx animation and slides to bottom... on restore the window is fine again in his original state.
Maybe is the specific FX? Im on a 4K Lg nanocell 49 inches tv for monitor and i currently have a 2k resolution (not native which is 4k 3800something x...) with 150% zoom in windows settings...
i hope this helps you somehow stardock support... thank you for your interest....
my windowsfx 6.13-j23 has the message
Desktop Window Manager (DWM) is enabled
is this the way it should? or windowsfx should have replaced the DWM?????
help somebody
DWM enabled is necessary for WinFX to work.
So, it's a good thing.
