I can preorder only at epic store - thing is I have 95% of my friends and games at steam.
WILL SINS OF A SOLAR EMPIRE II BE ON STEAM OR OTHER PLATFORMS?
We would love to have Sins of a Solar Empire II on as many platforms as possible; right now, we are focused on delivering the best game possible on Epic.
Sins of a Solar Empire II - FAQ (sinsofasolarempire2.com)
Could be great if we can see on steam, I think most of soase 1 players would love it but for some reason EGS is hated by many.
Thank you for your quick response, it woulkd be awesome to have it in my steam library, ofc not buying it at EGS no matter how much I love this game.
Best regards!

Shrugs, I'm good either way (although my preferred platform would be GOG I imagine that isn't on the table) but I do assume as far as multiplayer is concerned it won't matter where you buy it from.
Platform won't make any difference for MP or Mods this time around. We've reached the point in the industry where tying yourself permanently to a storefront doesn't make sense.
Great so why can't I pre-order this on Steam, GOG, Origin, UPlay, Humble Bundle etc??
x2
For you, people are free to choose permanent store plataform or not.
Sure, we all saw that, we're just asking why? If it's the money Epic gave you, just say so. We're confused cause Steam has been good to Stardock and it just feels a little weird that you jumped into bed with Epic...not trying to slut-shame anyone of course......just get tested before the Steam release please.
Probably because Epic paid them for the exclusive at least for the pre-orders. Possibly not even for the full period. I wouldn't worry about it until it actually releases.
Never heard of Epic games. What is that? I have 170 purchased games in my Steam library. I did have to get a UbiSoft account for Anno1800. Really happy about Sins2 coming out. Hope it can be on Steam, too. Seems silly to go with an unknown, unheard vendor for release of Sins2. I wonder what the thinking was behind that. I'd like to get into the Beta and pre-order; maybe Stardock can make a direct download available. Just my two cents as a suggestion.
I too am curious when SoSE2 will be coming to anything other than EGS. I refuse to buy games on EGS precisely due to this exclusivity crap.If you want to support all platforms then support all platforms. Players can and will wait for a quality experience and a part of a quality experience is being on the storefront of choice.
Right and if that's the case, just say so. Tell me that Epic offered a great deal for a timed exclusivity and with this deal a lot of great things can be done to benefit the game but don't tell me that they picked EGS over Steam or hell their own launcher just because it was the better choice of storefronts. Just be honest.
Does it really make a difference? Is there an answer that they can give that is going to sway you one way or another? At the end of the day, they've chosen Epic whether it is because of money, politics, or they just think they have the best platform for their purposes doesn't really matter - it is what they are doing.
Not sure how you have never heard of Epic Games but they are not an unknown, unheard-of vendor. They have been around since 1992, they are the developer of the Unreal engine (which probably powers a significant number of games in your games library) and are the publisher (either by original development or acquisition) of some of the most successful games in the world - most notably in recent years Fortnite. Some other notable games are:
The Unreal series
The Gears of War series
Age of Wonders
The Alan Wake Games
Rocket League
Anyway, they opened the Epic Game Store a couple of years ago to compete with Steam (primarily). Apparently, they have ruffled more than a few feathers by paying for exclusivity. Personally, I'm indifferent to them but have gotten a few games free from them (they give them away bi-weekly or monthly, I forget which). Sins 2 might be the first game I actually pay for from them. Regardless of how anyone feels about them, they are not a fly-by-night operation.
.
Epic Games created Fortnite, produces the Unreal Engine, and was famous for the greatest online multiplayer FPS game of all time, Unreal Tournament.
Long time, no see, Candido. Didn't you used to play in 5v5's?
Personally, I'm OK with buying Sins-2 on the Epic Store if that's what's required for early access, though I would prefer to keep purchased games on Steam. I just hope the online multiplayer is truly platform agnostic. Sins Rebellion multiplayer is currently tied to Steam. I would hate to buy the game on Epic and then later find out that the online multiplayer is centered around a different platform.
And yet you are exactly doing this, tying your game to one (of the worst) platforms on PC.
Steam has ALOT more players than Epic, also most veteran Sins players on this game on Steam and yet you just don't care about their feedback and selling out to Epic?
This hurts the game.
