Welcome friends!
Stardock and Ironclad Games are very happy you're here. For more than a decade we've been asked, "Sins 2 when?" We're happy to finally tell you - it's coming! So feed your pink space ponies and power-up your phase engines because we have a lot in store!
Where are we starting? If you've pre-ordered the game, we'll be starting with a single-player engine test in Fall 2022 featuring TEC Loyalists. Things won't be content complete, but you'll be able to experience the new gameplay systems, refinements, abilities and more. We think you'll find gameplay in Sins II to be even deeper than the original; allowing you to discover new strategies and ways to play.
What won't it have initially?
So... where are we going? We hope to have the TEC Rebels in your hands this winter for starters, along with more art, sound, music and more. Multiplayer will be coming in early 2023 and then onto Vasari!
As we get closer to the playable build, you'll see us talk a lot more about what to expect, so stay tuned! Feel free to post on our official forums here or on our Discord server to say hi.
The next year is going to be incredible!

Welcome to Sins of a Solar Empire II: Dev Journal 1
So, after my 4,879hrs of playing Sins of a Solar Empire including playing several of the Mods created for it, I just decided to stumble on Stardock's website and LO and Behold, there is a Sins 2. I remember discussions about this years ago with everyone wanting to see a Sins not bound by the memory issues Sins 1 had and thinking that this dream would never happen and here it is. I am completely stoked, just bought my preorder and am really looking forward to testing out the new game. All I can say is THANK YOU for getting this created.
Thanks for the explanation of Epic vs Steam, I did not know that. Personally, I don't care what platform it is on, I would and have bought it anyway. I look forward to helping the devs develop this game.
Welcome to the party!
As per the discussion about Steam vs Epic. If they released the EA on Steam it would be sitting at 30% positive with the vast majority of negative reviews being "OMG THE KOL! You did the Kol so dirty, looks like pooh! OMFG, worst game ever, why ever release a sequel if you're just going to massacre the design aesthetics of the original game!!!!!!!!" while completely ignoring the fact that we now have a completely stable game that can run games well into the tens if not hundreds of hours playtime mark, with no slowdowns, no hitching, no chugging.
It will be much better for Sins 2 to release complete and polished, with its full potential only 50% tapped, because it draws in two huge franchises(ST,SW) into its own gravity well by offering a complete game engine experience, fully open for modders to exploit to its maximum potential. I've effortlessly sunk ~6 hours at a time into Sins 2 games, and have about ~35 hours of playtime over about ~5 days of playing. This game is going to be fantastic and it will overshadow Homeworld 3 like a colossus standing beside a pygmy, no offense to HW3 I'll be buying and playing that too, but the sheer potential of Sins 2 is extraordinary.
Sad but probably true. And because of how Steam's review system works, 1 bad review = 4 positive ones. That why developers hate it so much.
Are you talking about weight of the reviews? This is the first I’ve heard of that.
Yup.
