I am a little late to this thread but love the sentiment. From my childhood I am missing seeing the fireworks but now that I live in the SF Bay area, they are banned in the city I live in although plenty of people were lighting them off that night and I hardly was able to get sleep.
Yeah, that happens where I live too. It's hardest on the dogs and other pets that are frightened by them. It would be best if it could be prevented, but there isn't sufficient enforcement of the ban.
