Just curious, what do people hope to see in the changelog when 1.0 is released on Tuesday?
The only thing I really care about seeing is something like:
"Fixed the AI surveying anomalies without having a survey ship bug."
If I don't see something to that effect, I'm just going to keep playing Pathfinder WotR until GC 4 is ready
Anything else that might be in the changelog for 1.0 would just be a little more icing on the cake to me.
So what is everybody else hoping to see?
for beams to get +10% base range so that they're competitive with the other weapon types.
The list is way too long. There is no hope for this release. By releasing now, they're giving up. So many things are broken that only paid sponsors like PCGamesN can honestly give the game a positive review.
I'm holding out hope that they will come to their senses, acknowledge that the game isn't anywhere near ready, and delay the release until they can at least do something about the bug list. For now, they're still generating bugs faster than they're fixing them.
The minute they release, I'm out until they announce a 1.1. Not 1.0.1, but 1.1. Sorry guys, I tried.
As I play a lot of MP games, I would firstly like to see the current desync/crash issues fixed for MP.
Secondly, I would like to see AI players and the Sandbox mode re-added to the game, when stable.
MP post 1.0 as stability is gained is something I want too for sure.
For 1.0, Honestly I think a fix for the Anomaly bug is a "must have", otherwise there are just a handful of annoying bugs that require quit/reloads that need to be looked at. Like the minor civ missions breaking if you click on them twice - that type of thing. Ships occupying the same hex as things they're not supposed to be able to (like Anomalies) also comes to mind. It'd be nice if blocked tiles got sorted before then too..
But even if those make it into 1.0, they really are just minor bugs in the greater scheme of things, they're not really game breaking. So really I feel like the Anomaly bug is the biggest one that people will notice and make them think that the AI must be cheating all over the place..
A perception of AI cheating would definitely impact the brand. The rest are obviously just bugs, and not really major ones.
I agree, this is the main open issue for me that is making the game very annoying. Also would like to see prototype ships not showing up in shipyard after anomaly event for Custom Civ fixed for launch.
It's not like it is just one thing. Any bug bad enough to make players save-scum like ships intermittently failing to participate in battles (see #8) will crush the spirit of someone buying this game thinking it is finished. It is unlikely they can fix their cool but broken features like multiplayer (unstable), map generation (ignoring multiple settings), custom faction generation (failing to assign assets without warning), and the battle viewer (intermittently failing to show the actual battle). Throw in the myriad of mystery mechanics and general gameplay issues and this game has no chance of being successful. Their brand just isn't strong enough.
Me and my sister are holding out desperate hope that a co-op compatible multiplayer mode emerges from the beta fog, but my dev heart tells me that's niche on top of niche so is unlikely to have been a priority for launch.
I hope to see a Russian translation, bugs and errors do not scare, the main thing is that the players and their wishes are heard, stellaris shows that this genre is not dead and attracts a lot of people. Localization decides. Her absence is like a spit in the face, to her potential buyer and fan.
