ok, we know the mimots are a fav of the devs and are designed to be insanely good, but i think it's time to give them a bit of a nerf. you've had your fun, but now i really think it's time to put them back within reach of the rest of the pack. not too much of course, but unlike every other really good civ they have like no downside. +20% food eaten per citizen, but each citizen has +200% the normal growth rate. which doesnt matter much because their starting homeworld has 24 food for some reason, which is 2x the arboreal homeworld of the baratak btw. and they have 4 planets in their starting system, another of which has 8 food.
1. make their homeworld have a normal starting food amount.
2. increase the mimot food consumption to 2. if they have +2 BASE growth rate they should have at least +1 food consumption. this might make mimot players actually have to think about food consumption, which they currently really dont. mimots should be thinking about food... a lot...
3. the ship doubling is insanely good. maybe slightly nerf the weapons/defenses of the duplicated ships. it'll still be really, really good, i swear.
As for the Mimot. I want the player to feel like they are ravenous little monsters so I agree with the suggestions to decrease the food on their starting planet.
It isn't about "nerfing" them. But forcing the player to make different decisions as they are playing them. And I want non-Mimot players to have them on their worlds to love/hate them. So increasing their food requirement is a good idea too. Im going to tweak both slightly.
That is great. I am in the camp of NOT nerfing stuff if it can be avoided and instead making other races on par with a special ability. You and the team do a great job of listening to us the community and are slow to slam the nerf bat onto features/races.
Have Cari uh, make the Drengin a bit more 'warlike/agressive' and maybe some cool 'Drengin feature' If I was going to play a non custom race (and I never do) it would be the Drengin. Ive always loved the Lore of them and their 'Might makes right' philosophy is right up my path to conquest!

yeah, just make them think about food a little more, i think it's great. when u start making custom civs i've noticed the mimots arent too bad, they're just basically a good custom civ. only other suggestion i would make for them is to change their description so it doesnt say they're an average race
Yeah the Mimot description should not say they are an average race. It should be more like:
"The Mimot are unholy hellspawn, spewing forth from the depths of the Abyss. They burst forth like a virulent plague upon the galaxy, rapidly spreading and devouring all in their path."
That would be a much more accurate description of the Mimot...
