Ran into a glitch with drones (nice to see them & nanobots back in the game btw). When selecting "collector drones" to research which needs 1 drone to complete, the game would not return to the main screen. I tried pressing done several times and even alt-tabbed out of the game. I finally selected another tech to research & the game released to the main screen. There I was faced with this screen:
I had to click thru this several times to release.
I went back into research & tried to research "collector drones" again. This time the above screen came up & allowed me to select "yes" & move onto main screen.
I run at 2K (2560x1440) resolution, and bumped the UI Size to Medium. I'm liking it more, as my eyes aren't what they used to be. However, there are lots of scaling issues throughout the game. These are just a few:
Could you please make it so if you click on the text for the level, it brings up the drop down? Right now, it removes that race from the list. I guess I'm programmed to click on the text of a dropdown to make it expand.
Promethion seems like it's not very useful once you've built a few special research buildings (unless you're the onyx). It also seems that no one is really needing to use the defense items on ships. some ppl still use them sometimes, but it seems that they're never really needed, and i think that people often dont like to use them because of the 2/3 chance that they'll be useless in a battle, and the fact that they might want to save the elerium, thullium, and antimatter for possible weapons use later.if enhanced defense items were added that required promethion instead of the weapon resource types, and added to multiple defenses (smaller to each defense than the regular ones, but more overall spread across 2 or 3 defenses) it would give promethion more usefulness once you've built a couple research buildings, and would encourage people to use the defenses more. i think that this would be esp good for promethion, because not only does it not have much use once you've built a few research buildings, but players who prioritize research also often want to be defensive while they research stuff and build up their strength, and having the promethion they need for research also be useful for good defenses would be a great match i think that would be fun for a lot of players.downside of this would be that it would still make people want to go for just one weapon type to break through a blockade of defenses, but i honestly think that problem is going to be there anyway unless the defense system gets a rework. this would also go great with a defense rework btw
Can't colonize planet Sidal III for some unknown reason (it's not extreme, or oceanic). Load the save and find DES Occupier 2, and try to colonize the planet it's right next to.

I colonized it without a problem.
What the hell? Lol, it does nothing when I right click on it
EDIT: Ok, looks like I can colonize it now. I _think_ what caused it initially was starting a game after being in another game. At least that's all that I can come up with.
I'm getting a stacking -10 penalty to leader loyalty every time I remove and replace them as ministers. That was not happening before the update. If this is not a bug, (1) I'm not a fan, and (2) it is not sufficiently explained via tooltip (e.g., just shows "Minister (3) -10" and applies -30 loyalty).
Loving the update otherwise.
I had to click thru this several times to release.I went back into research & tried to research "collector drones" again. This time the above screen came up & allowed me to select "yes" & move onto main screen.
I ran into a similar issue when researching a drone tech. It was the one that requires 3 drones. I had 3 drones, but for some reason it when I clicked on it to research it, nothing happened (the research screen wouldn't go away). I selected a different tech so I could exit out of the research screen, and then I got the same screen asking me if I wanted to spend drones, even though I had changed which technology I was researching. I had to click "No" multiple times because apparently there were multiple instances of this screen that got stacked when I was repeatedly clicking the technology that I couldn't get to work. After that, I reentered the research screen and I was able to get the tech I wanted just fine.
Don't know if this trading exploit has been mentioned, but if an AI's credits go to zero or negative you can drive the "credits per month" to absurd numbers.
Not an exploit the game is just imitating the United States Congress. 😎
I'm currently stuck in my game, doing nothing special, version Beta_0.90.282381. Here's the link to the savegame on Googledrive, it crashes every time with the next turn.

If you don't need to build ships then you can spam research projects. If you do need to build ships then just sell them to the galactic bazaar to fund your war effort.
I've had the opposite problem. If there is no promethion available then it is very difficult to boost your research. You can't even build a Torian Academy without it now. In my last game there was none in my starting sector. I guess my only hope was rushing the galactic bazaar.
This brings me back to my other point that the RNG-based research mechanic is infuriating. At any one time there is really only one meaningful technology. If I don't get lucky on the 4-5 choices then I can either reroll until I get something on that path or I can just pick with ambivalence. Neither way is fun, neither is interesting, I hate it. There is already a mechanic for getting techs for free from randomness. Just lean into that, get rid of the pointless picking every few turns, let us see the whole tree, pick one tech to rush, let the RNG occur behind the scenes (so you might or might not get your desired tech), and let us get on with our lives. I kind of like the idea of tech awards being largely random. Being handed random techs that you wouldn't ordinarily go for could make things more interesting by giving you an incentive to try out new things.
