v0.77
The AI offered a deal which included some techs in exchange for my techs and 500 credits. I tried to squeeze out paying a few less credits and dropped the value to 450 and the AI said "NO". Perfectly fine, but when I tried to reset to the original 500 offer the AI now wouldn't accept for less than 753.
Maybe this is intentional and the AI got pissed at me for trying to haggle and was insulted with the low offer so then asked for more than the original offer, but maybe this is a calculation bug when the value of a trade is being determined.
I've seen this outside of credits too. I reject an AI deal and try and modify it slightly and when they reject the new terms I set things back to square one and they will have nothing to do with it.
On a related note, what the heck ever happened to the function where you ask the AI "what do you want for this deal?" instead of just randomly plugging stuff in and hoping for the best?
I was thinking of that too and couldn't recall if that was from a previous GalCiv or if I was misremembering and it was from another game. Either case, good mechanics are good mechanics so why not implement it.
I'm pretty sure this was a thing in GalCiv2 - not to mention having seen it implemented in some other space 4x games semi-recently.
