Hi, I bought SoundPackager on windows 10 home and applied a custom sound theme. I recently restored my computer from a backup image and started to get 2 startup sounds. All of the custom sounds were set back to stock except logging in then played the stock sound and the custom sound. I set all sounds back to default using the SoundPackager software and uninstalled it. I was able to disable the stock startup sound easily in sound settings but the old custom startup sound still plays. After trying everything I can think of, including multiple registry and group policy editor changes, I cannot get rid of the annoying custom startup sound. Please help me! Thank you
Ok, I found all of the custom sound folders under C:/Windows/media and deleted them all. That seemed to stop the sound. I would still like to know why it was happening though. I don't want there to be a setting somewhere that points to a file that doesn't exist and is causing an error every startup. Thanks

Need to understand better your message.
When you say you deleted all custom sounds you mean the Windows sounds ?
And what kind of error do you get now a message
or what ?
If you deleted the Windows sounds did you try installing back the Sound Packager sounds.
Do they now work ?
To make it simple, I have 2 startup sounds now. The "Play Windows Startup sound" and then a sound from a soundpackager
Did you ever get this fixed?
I believe, since Windows 10, Windows has change, and setting startup and shutdown sound no longer available.

Thank you,
Have you, Stardock, discontinued this software yet? if not, you need to! People are spending money on this program when it's not supported. So please? take it off your website.
@rey_1178 No, I didn't. My computer still makes a very annoying sound every single time it starts up. Thankfully it's not when logging in, only on start from power off or restarts.
@basj I read that article and it doesn't have anything to do with what I was talking about. I have migrated my system to a new hard drive and the sound persists. I feel like the software embedded the sound into the startup procedure somehow. This is completely independent from the windows login sounds.
@EncryptedGod I completely agree! This has basically infected my system and has been trolling me at every startup since. I can't believe I spent money on this. This is ridiculous!
Question 1: When you say you deleted all custom sounds you mean the Windows sounds ?
Answer: I deleted c:/window/media/ALL stardock folders in here.
Question 2: And what kind of error do you get now a message or what ?
Answer: I'm not getting an error message or any error of any kind. Immediately after installing SoundPackager an unwanted startup sound is playing and I can't stop it. When the computer POWERS ON(not wake up or log in) a very annoying sound from one of the sound packs plays. It's completely separate from windows login sound. I can't figure out how to stop it.
Question 3: If you deleted the Windows sounds did you try installing back the Sound Packager sounds. Do they now work?
Answer: I reinstalled the SoundPackager software and set a custom sound pack. The new sounds worked but the old, annoying, sound on startup was still there and unchanged. I installed over a dozen sound packs trying to find the sound with no luck. Nothing I tried changed, or removed the annoying startup sound that SoundPackager installed on my computer.
Your software has embedded an unwanted and very annoying sound onto my system and I cannot remove it.
The point is, As I said; Remove or discontinue this (useless) app? "Have you, Stardock, discontinued this software yet? if not, you need to! People are spending money on this program when it's not supported. So please? take it off your website"
Basically, I (we) are not looking for a "fix". This program is useless. So Stardock needs to take it off the website. PERIOD!!!!
