So I've been enjoying playing as the Baratak Grove, though they still don't compare to those overpowered, hyperfertile, fluffy, pastel Ewoks Mogwai Mimot.
But as I've unlocked more techs and thus planetary improvements, I'm realizing that my homeworld and early core worlds are full and I have no idea which tile held that juicy 3x Tourism buff now that I've covered the homeworld in Manufacturing, Research, and Financial Districts.
When new techs are unlocked, new opportunities present themselves and some planets may need to be reconfigured.
It would be helpful if the bonus icons remained, or at a minimum if the tile's bonus information was included in the tooltip when hovering over an improvement or district.

How about if the tiles were changed so they had, say "O: MAN+3, A:RES+1" on them rather than the graphical icons for forests, etc? O for "On" and A for "Adjacent". Just have a little term legend that pops up when looking at a planet on the left hand side/right hand side:
ALL: Well, we know what that means, yes?
APP: Approval
INF: Influence
MAN: Manufacting
MIL: Military
POP: Populaton
RES: Research
TOU: Tourism
WEA: Wealth
The indication, "O: MAN+3, A: RES+1", say, shows in solid colour when that tile is empty but as a popup when something has been built on that tile.
I'm not part of the Alpha, but in GCIII I always thought it a bit unusual that planets had no orbital defenses, minus and spacecraft stationed there. There are planet based shield generators and of course troops, but not any surface to space missiles, beams, or even small attack craft. I realize that takes up valuable land tiles (Which I believe there are not near enough, even on large worlds). Orbital platforms would help alleviate some of that. Just seems a bit arbitrary that nothing happens until the troopships deliver the soldiers. I hope there is some of this in IV, if so disregard this comment.
