Hi,
Just some feedback RE: Start11 v 0.9: The 'recommended' files on the start menu is not working (just the apps at the top of the Modern start menu are visible), and the Start11 menu stops working altogether (on clicking the start button) after a short while (even though it is the only option selected in the settings). I suspect there is something going on with adding new apps to the Start11 Menu.....Also, the dragging and dropping of apps on the Start11 menu totally sucks....other apps move about when dragging and dropping for no reason.
I am running 22000.194 on a Surface Pro 7 with no changes to the Windows 11 settings.
Cheers,
Mark
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Could you post a video on your issue so we can see the issue much better.

#deleted, wrong thread#
I have the same problem with this version on my windows 11 pro 21H2 build 22000.194.
2 days ago i had buying start 11 beta and it works perfect with my win11.
Yesterday comes the update to version 0.90 and after restart my pc my desktop freezed.
I see a grey desktop only and can do nothing.
I must deinstalling start 11 and my pc works like before.
I will back to the older beta version, but i can´t find it.
Where is a download link to the older beta version of start 11?
Sorry for my bad english.
Can I ask how many monitors you have on your computer?
Thanks for your fast answer, Neil.
I have 2 Monitors and a TV on my Sapphire Nitro+5700XT.
But i use the TV from time to time only.
Can you give me a link to the older beta version?
I don´t like the new windows 11 startmenu and the beta version of start 11 worked good for me.
Edit:
OK, Neil.
I have deactivated 1 monitor and the TV and with 1 monitor works the version 0.90 perfect.
2.Edit:
It´s the TV.
I have activated the 2. monitor and start11 works.
Hi Basj,
I ran the Start8/10 purge program, and that solved the operational issues with Start11 noted above -EXCEPT, Start11 stops working on clicking the start menu after a while....it always works on the windows key, but defaults back to Windows Start for unknown reasons. Restarting the computer rectifies the problem...but again, only for a short while.
Just curious did you applied any hack on your taskbar or install other 3rd party application for taskbar and/or Start panel before installing Start11?
Thank you,
Basj,Stardock Community Assistant
Just wondering, what happened to the ability to select what appears on the places panel like with Start 10. Sure would love that back!
No - I had Start10 once, but I have purged it using Stardock's own program
Further to my previous comment - when I launch a Windows Explorer window, Start11 stops working on the start button....it only works with the Window key.
Are we expecting to see the option to place the Taskbar on the Lefthand and Righthand side of the screen in the future?
Regards Patrick
Thanks for this Plug-in was developed by your team at first.
Some problems were found in the process of use, and I hope to solve them.
1.I can’t pay it in the web page, Nothing happens when I was click the button named get the beta,so how i pay?
2.How to change the start11 language?
3.In Start Menu(Windows 11 style),There are no rules for moving icons.
4.If I turn off search function,When i want to rename page name and inputting text, the search window will pop up, which makes it impossible to rename.
5.When I move the taskbar to the top of the screen, the function area module displayed after clicking the position of WIfi, volume, and battery cannot be fully displayed.

Hi Again,
It seems that changing any taskbar or start menu items in Windows settings makes Start11 stop functioning properly....
Please try clean boot, to see if something is blocking Start11 from work properly : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd.
Note : this is for Windows 10 but from what I read it also can applies for Windows 11.
Try it and report back.
Hello,I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
You click the dropdown below the menu style in the config and pick settings and there are a huge number of options.
If that is missing I would be interested in what shows if you hold down ctrl and launch Start11config again.
There is an issue in the 0.9 build if you have three or more monitors and have the custom start button option enabled.
If you disable that option in Start11 you should be fine.
Accessing a network drive (or a cloud - like One Drive) affects Start11 in the way I have described. Launching One Drive seems to be a key issue....
....if you have three or more monitors and have the custom start button option enabled.

Yeah, that was it.
Now, Start 11 works with my 2 monitors and the tv.
Thanks for your help, Neil.

Thanks Neil, that worked starting Start 11 with the normal right click, did the Ctrl - Start 11 thing too, but nothing different that I could see. Only one last question... Is it possible to get rid of the user icon? I can't seem to find a setting for that. Thanks again!
It seems as though launching an Explorer window on any cloud-based folder screws Start11's functioning.....
Is it possible to get rid of the user icon in Start 11? I can't seem to find a setting for that.
I found that annoying too Tom (among other things about Start11), I just dumped it, and went to the default Win 11 look.
I don't see user picture on mine, but I don't remember how I did that.
You're using the "Windows 7 style" / "Compact Grid Windows 7 style" from the Windows 7 style dropdown, which doesn't show the User Icon. Neither does "Windows 7 Style" / "Compact Windows 7 style".
The "Modern Style" can be set to show no User Icon by selecting "Settings" from its dropdown, then on the Settings window selecting the "Start menu theme" of "Modern theme without icon".
Those are the only options I've found to enable/disable the User Icon.
Thanks much Dave, that worked!
