Is it possible (or a planned feature) to (re)enable taskbar labels in Start11? Have the forced combined/no labels in windows 11 is just crazy to me, I really want my labels back.
We are looking at customer requests regarding taskbar features currently.
Oh, that would be great! I really miss "Never combine taskbar buttons" option! Perhaps this is the only thing I am missing in Windows 11. Please add this to wishlist!
I am a new user to Stardock . I also would like to see "taskbar labels and never combine" added to Stardock software. Its the one option that I am waiting for before I upgrade to Windows 11 on my main PC. Hard to believe that MS removed this setting
Yep, this is a must have feature! I want to see the labels on open windows while still keeping the aesthetics of the Win11 taskbar.
There is a program that does that but it makes it looks like a previous Win version. (Not sure if I'm allowed to mention that program)
I have to agree with what is being said here. +1
Yup! Already gladly paid up for Object Desktop, but would gladly pay again to see Never Combine with text labels come back. Is there a tip jar will can put in towards new features? I don't care if MS did get their head out of their butts and bring it back themselves, would trust StarDock's solution more. Think this feature alone could really boost your new customer numbers as I think there is going to be a ton of folks looking for this.
I really need this, I thought I just saw another thread on it, but this would be great
I would like to have this feature as well.
I really like the snap layout features of Windows 11, but everything ends up being all jumbled up and mixed into single icons and that is driving me crazy. It is almost counter intuitive from a productivity standpoint because I will still have to dig around for my folders when I would rather be snapping them side by side faster. Groupy is nice because it will ad tabs to explorer, but at the same time I still prefer to use snap features so at the end of the day I feel I need never combine tabs
Taskbar labels is a must. StartAllBak has them, and if the program wasn't such a POS I would have let it replace Start11. Having the labels back was quite a feature, but too many bugs in it for other things.
In the meantime, checkout ExplorerPatcher. It's been working great for months. Very grateful for it!https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher
I would also like to see this added to start11.
Great product, taskbar labels and being able to not force combining them would make the product complete for me
I upgraded Stardock hoping this feature would be here by now. Nope. I am not going to ask for a refund but I WILL NOT buy another license for Stardock Object Desktop until this feature is available. Luckily I think there is another product out there I have read about which can supply this feature. I will not use Windows 11 unless I can have labels. I rely on them way too much.
You're looking for taskbar buttons label yes? If so, it already implemented few released back. Have you tried latest Start11 release?
Thank you,

The feature has been available for over six months. If you open the start 11 settings you can see the option on the taskbar page.
I had just gotten a brand new laptop last weekend and installed Object Desktop, including Start11. I don't know why but it didn't install the latest version. I had to update in order for the new option to appear. It would be nice if the latest version was installed with the product.
I can't make Taskbar button labels disappear using Windows Taskbar settings panel to combine/hide text labels. I'm also Using Start 11 and Curtains and can't find anywhere in their control panels to control this behavior either. HELP PLEASE...
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.
Thank you.
Basj,Stardock Community Assistant.
Thanks... but I found the answer in another thread. I turned off the Enhance Taskbar feature in Start 11 and problem solved. I'm using Windows 11 ver. 23H2, and Start 11 ver. 2.08 and Curtains ver. 1.19.1. Thanks.
If you have Enhance taskbar turn on, you should be able to hide taskbar button text by using this option in your Start11 enhance taskbar setting.
