Like several other companies, when COVID hit, Stardock went remote. I already had a nice little corner in my guest/dressing room for my desk/computer. Over the last few months, I have been adding to it, updating some of my accessories and making myself more comfortable.
I don't have room for any other space than what I have, but believe my setup is pretty good. My most recent purchases include...
For me, Stardock was always remote [only been there twice]...
COVID has taught us how to create really cool setups. You know, I’ve switched to standing working mode since COVID hit, and it’s actually the best decision I’ve made recently. I found that piece of advice on the forum I was browsing in 2020. I had terrible back pain and had no idea how to reduce it. One of the best options to get rid of the pain was to buy a table with a changeable height. I’ve always been a fan of Eureka Ergonomic desks, so the choice was obvious, though IKEA has a lot of good and qualitative CH desks too. So, working standing just eliminated my back pain. Still, I switch between standing and sitting modes. Legs should have some rest too. So, what do you guys think of CH desks? Have you ever had one?
Looking good, Red!
Same here Doc, i have worked for my company in Canada (A Remote Worker, I Live In The UK) for over 14 years. Never been to the office in person as its on the other side of the planet.
I too have invested a bunch of money over the years making my workstation as comfortable as possible. I have a High End Chair that can be adjusted in several ways for back support. My space is not too big so i bought one of those Clamp Multi Function Arms for my Monitor (The kind you see in Banks Clamped to my desk side) so it can be moved in many directions, so when i work it is more or less at head height (maybe just a touch lower). I have a Shelf with several HD Docking Stations all USB3 for my collection of around 30TBs for just about everything. So Effectively i sit at a right angle to my desk and have built an angled foot rest that can be adjusted both up and down and the angle changed to suit. I have made a Mouse Matt that is fixed at one corner that allows it to swing out to just above my right knee, and swings back under the desk when not needed, my keyboard sits on my lap as i have found that to be the most comfortable, this leaves almost all my Desktop surface empty. My Mouse and Keyboard are wireless and both Backlit so they Glow (Day Shift In Canada is Nightshift in the UK).
When i have finished working, this whole set up is permanently connected to my 60 Inch 4K Plasma TV, which is also on a Multi Function Arm that swings out to just beyond my feet off set to the right. Sometimes when work is not too busy, i can re locate to the Bed using the same mouse, and a half size wireless Keyboard and work that way, but have to be super careful not to fall asleep.
Have been doing this for years so agree fully with redskittlesonly, if you work from home, then why not invest in making the space as the very best it can be for comfort and practicality.
Hey! I resemble that!
Nah, Jafo is younger and my spy, Terry, says he's way better looking. I say he's got a funny accent and an odd point of view (upside down), so it's hard to mix up between us.
Cool desktop, redskittlesonly!

My apologies Doc, off coarse you are right it was Jafo who i quoted. It was the wife's Birthday Dec 1 and like My Queen (RIP), she has two Birthdays (Don't Ask) so we celebrated again Yesterday, lots of Steaks, Sambuca etc.. and although i am very disciplined about what i eat and drink (at my age you have to be), making sure my wife had the best time possible has Tired me out and dulled the mind.
Only since Covid, some people come in more than others.
I discovered that in Marseille in 1973....got pretty much legless on it too ...
Ha Ha Jafo Sambuca Discovered, more like Encountered, Black Sticky Hooch I have not been legless in many years, but going to war 5 times in my other life, you learn to use Booze to kill the stress of the downtime before it all kicks off again, in the past i have drank some strange stuff, even had a brew made from a kind of milk called Kumis, now that will put hairs on your chest, guaranteed to get your eye sight back within 24 hours.
