I updated Fences to the new version, and Wallpaper Engine stopped working with it. Disabling Fences in the settings immediately makes the chosen wallpaper work. Could you help please help me fix this problem? Thank you!
Same happend to me too.. Fix this Please. Had to disable Fenses to get Wallpaper Engine to work again.. Enoying. cause now it is a mess on my desktop.....

so you want us to buy another software, because of this message it seems that fences disable the compatibility on purpose then, this has to be fixed asap. I have the same issue it was working fine this morning and with the update, all went to the sinkhole. I would prefer a refund and look for another option than buying your "new wallpaper software"

I agree with the others in the post, that's just some screwed up way to generate demand for another software of yours. I'd like you to clear up these allegations, else I'll be under the necessity of contacting consumer protection with programming of a product's newer version deliberately incompatible with a popular alternative.
This is honestly disgusting and unacceptable. I uninstalled Fences for good, you won't be getting my business anymore.

As everyone else, I am extremely disappointed by the fact that Fences purposefully disabled Wallpaper Engine from working to promote their own competitor software. If you go to windows wallpaper settings and change from image to solid, you can momentarily trick Fences into not redrawing your wallpaper on top of Wallpaper Engine, and see both working together fine just to see that their argument of it not working is false.
Now, the installer provided to 3.09 don't work with Steam, which is my version. How am I supposed to downgrade to previous version?If this is not solved I'd rather keep my Wallpaper Engine and never use Fences again, but I will make sure to open a ticket for refund with Steam and leave a negative review.
Stardock is shooting on their own feet.
Made an account to say Stardock is disgusting, recommended many of my friends because I used to love it. Like me, they also use it with Wallpaper Engine, now we cannot use it anymore unless we stay on the last update since the latest update broke the functionality with intention. Will never support this company.
Fences and WE worked fine on my machine, nice one Stardock, put a disclaimer saying that there are potential issues and let us have both working. This is a terrible move.

This doesnt surprise me with stardock. They screwed me really good not long ago as well and now this crap.

Honestly I'm also disappointed by this behavior. How about adding a Wallpaper Engine Compatibility Mode to Fences that disables all Fences features that conflict with WE? That said since 3.09 works it can't be that much that is truly incompatible.
That said, here's a tip from someone that partially studied economics and business:
Forcing customers to use your product over a competitors by using such tactics rarely ever works, if you want customers to use your product instead you have three options:
1: Make a better product
2: Outprice the competition
3: Remove the competition
2 and 3 aren't really possible with Wallpaper Engine so I would say either do 1 or leave customers in peace.
well that was a shit responce of you.. i have used both DeskScapes and wallpaper engine and in my oppinion and experience DeskScapes sucks in comparison. and i had atleast 10 issues aday with your program. fence was working as it should untill u uppdated it yesterday and made it shit. if you want to keep your customers fix the issue without rekommending them to switch over to your program. ppl are buying the stuff they are for a reason. no stupid need to try forcing ppl to buy another program that are supposed to do the samething that we already have just so you can get more money.
Really Hope this is just a mistake and not made on purpose.... these kind of actions are never without consequenses...
Again, i hope it was just a mistake of communication by their Community Assistant.
I'll continue to trust that they will provide a fix to this during the next week.
Edit: I just found out that they did it on purpose.... more people use Wallpaper Engine than Fences.... i will go back to 3.09 and never update again.

Yeah, so if you guys seriously did this on purpose, I'm done playing devil's advocate for you. I'll hold out a bit for an update, but if one doesn't show, you can say goodbye to my support with Fences.
No WP compatibility = good bye object desktop subscription
Guys, they have addressed it in https://forums.stardock.com/505007/page/1/#3806834, if they did it on purpose, at least they clicked pretty fast, that we are upset with such bamboozling, and they provided a downloader for the rollback, so all in all, they seem to play fair currently, so I see no reason to whack the bush. Thank you Stardock for cleaning up the case!
Stardock did not do this on purpose.
I believe it has been rolled back to 3.09 whilst things are being investigated and hopefully fixed for an updated 3.1
In that case, I apologize. Where can I find this rolled-back version? I have the Steam edition, so I'm unsure how to implement it.
