Any help appreciated. I downloaded "WindowBlinds" and am trying to run it now as a 30-trial with intent to purchase if it works. But it does not seem to work. I click on the icon for the program, and the interface flashes on the screen for perhaps 1/100th of a second, and then disappears. Have tried running it as administrator and with various compatibility modes, but still no good. I have Windows 10. Hope you, or some live person, will see this and help if possible. Thank you, Paul and Jean.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more no your system.
ThanksBasj,Stardock Community Assistant.
Thanks so much for getting back. Would really enjoy to be able to use what seems to be an grand program. I am running Windows 10 version 21H1, which I think is the most recent edition. The WindowBlinds installs fine, at least it did not give any error messages when I installed it. Have rebooted perhaps 10 times in the course of things, and the issue still persists. I noted in the original forum that people had suffered this problem as far back as 2017. Which I why I suspect there is no solution if four years later still exists. Very sad.
Need your information on this?
Thank you,
Basj,Stardock Community Assistant
Oh sorry, you asked about the graphics card. It's AMD, not sure of the model, but it cost me $250 so am guessing it's powerful enough, and is also fairly recent, less than a year old. If you or your colleagues can think of a solution, would be most grateful. Also would benefit your company am guessing, since how many other may have this problem and never told you.
I mean CPU not GPU.
Not sure what ARM and Snapdragon are? The computer is this big console that sits on the floor. It's quite powerful and has 32 units of ram. Am able to play powerful games on it without stuttering or lagging, so am guessing the hardware is not an issue. The "mother" board, I don't know, I think? Intel, the name sounds familiar. Is the WindowBlinds very particular, will run only on special machines?
You can check your CPU using your Device Manager. Something like below.
Found it!
Intel Core i7 3930K @ 3.20GHz
Sandy Bridge-E 32nm Technology
Need to know if you're using Eset for Virus/security protection?
No, just the built in Windows Defender; and I already though of that and had disabled it.
Hello,First, please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486023/windowblinds-support-faq#reinstalling. Well I think that's excellent. Followed your instructions, and your solution has worked. Am most grateful for it and also that you have so faithfully attended a complete stranger it being myself. Would also ask that if the issue again arises, and won't feel completely relieved until say a week, no make it two, has passed with continued success. To be able again to count upon you at that time would be very welcome, and please promise to again assist. Your reward will be great, if not from me than from fortune, which sees these thing.
Great, glad it working. Yes, just post again if the issue appear again. Will try to help.
With deepest regret, must report that it all fell apart. Worked for just a few minutes, now is flashing and disappearing again. It appears hopeless.
Something might be blocking Windowblinds from working on your system. Please try this guide : https://forums.stardock.com/486023/windowblinds-support-faq#cleanboot. Try that and report back.
It's midnight here (GMT -5) and going to bed. If checking in again tomorrow, and being able once again to receive your kind help, would be most grateful. Good night and rgds.
My Friend, if you still are in attendance, do tell you the WindowBlinds seem to have come alive again. As of this writing, still going, and for two hours! - has never worked more than a few minutes before - so looks good. Thanks and rgds.
