I've had this issue with Multiplicity occasionally, maybe once every couple of weeks, but in the last 2 days it's been rampant and can't seem to make it work consistently.
When I move my cursor to the secondary computer it appears for about a few inches on that screen then no longer appears on that computer. Moving the cursor back to the primary computer, it is hidden, for the most part. I can never see the arrow cursor but if I hover over a hyperlink (hand cursor) that shows up. Or any other cursor, like the "text" vertical line cursor.
To fix this on the primary computer I have to lock the computer, then unlock it. Or go to Services and stop Multiplicity. Cursor is fine until I go to that secondary computer again. To fix that, I usually go to Services, stop Multiplicity, then go and run Multiplicity (app) which will start the service. Usually that's enough; might have to do this on both the primary and the secondary computer. And if that doesn't work I have to restart one or both computers.
Yesterday and today this has happened too many times and it's getting really annoying. Nothing's changed from a network perspective (both on LAN wired, both with latest Multiplicity versions, no configuration change), and other than Windows updates not sure why this problem would suddenly get worse.
Anyone else have this issue, whether frequent or not?

I have this same problem. I'll review the document too.

Eh, I didn't want to uninstall and reinstall the whole thing, so I downloaded the setup file and ran it over top of what I have on the main computer. I'll see if that does anything for me.
Yeah, the problem just sort of went away. Not sure what causes it to become a problem then just go away.
i been having this constantly now since 2004 update the monitor seems like it goes to sleep (its not) on the secondary and forever loses connections until i get up and walk over to the machine to manually reboot
I do find that if the secondary computer's monitor *does* go to sleep it seems to be linked with the computer going into a low power state and network can be shut off at that time. So I've fiddled with Win10 power settings and even though I had it set to keep network active in power save it really didn't. So turned off power saving for monitor and computer as a whole. That doesn't sound like it's your issue but thought I'd put this in for others.
I've seen some apps offer a "keep alive" function so it overrides Windows power management at your choice. I'd like to see this option in Multiplicity.
I've also noticed that when I stop the Multiplicity service on the primary computer, my arrow mouse pointer returns. This occurs when Multiplicity has a problem with not being able to reach the remote computer, or in these cases it's kind of a partial brokenness... where the mouse moves over and then stops a few inches into the screen of the secondary computer. Then I no longer have a arrow cursor on my primary computer. If the cursor changes to a hand (i.e. over a link) then that hand cursor appears. But the arrow cursor never reappears unless I stop the Multiplicity service or CTRL-ALT-DEL, lock computer and unlock.
I'm assuming that Multiplicity is taking over the cursor on my primary computer and when it's failing it also fails to show that cursor.
