Hi,
I made a post sharing my cursor collection for CursorFX, the post was "nuked". Is it illegal to share one's cursor collection, and if so, why? All the cursors are freeware?
I clearly stated that I was not the author of any of these, and they are being shared freely on wincustomize.com anyway, even CursorFX linking to that site from within the program. And inside the program, the credits to the authors are revealed clicking the "I" icon. So why was my post deleted? Just looking for an explanation as I find it very strange.
Hello,
You are sharing others people work without their permission. That is not allowed. You can, if you wish, to list down all those cursors and share the original link from Wincustomize.com for others to download.
Thank you,

Edited, due to being wrong.
Read the terms of service for this site, please.
Also, I might add, that I have over 500 cursors, all are compatible.
Some cursors are not free. If I was able to share my collection, the person who would normally be paid for their work is bypassed. Another reason for the rule.
I see that, learning this, I stand corrected. I have also edited my initial post, my assumption being wrong.
The underlying reason that the method you were trying to apply to 'share' others' works is against the rules of Copyright is that your compilation is beyond the artist's physical reach - to be able to edit/amend/remove.
The works that are uploaded to Wincustomize.com are done so by the artist themselves, so it is a simple process for them to remove them if they deem it necessary. Their creations remain within their control - they retain the right to control 'copy'/download.
When a third party makes a work available for distribution/download - if that's done without specific artist's consent then it's in breach of Copyright....
