FYI....The new CursorFX4 does not automatically start selected cursor with Win10 start, nor is there an option within the program to tell it to start at OS boot. Using MS Surface Book 2 with Windows 10 Pro and all of the latest updates. What am I missing?
You aren't missing anything, except a working install. Mine automatically applies the same cursor I was using when I rebooted, or shutdown.
I haven't checked my Surface Pro 12. I shall now. THX.
I'd try a reinstall.
Oh, you said Surface Book. I don't have that.
Uninstalled, scrubbed registry, suspended antivirus, dropped firewall, etc.... reinstalled and still have same issue. Reboots with default Win10 cursor. Have to start CursorFX4 manually to get cursor.
Hello,Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please report your issue on the CursorFX 4 thread. https://forums.stardock.com/499371/cursorfx-4-effects-performance-issue . Please keep an eye on that thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Try this.
Check to see if CursorFX is in startup.
If it isn't, put it there manually.
Drop a shortcut to CursorFX.exe into the folder.
This is just a workaround until support comes back from Easter weekend.
It is there, but it was not enabled for some reason. Enabled it and is now working fine. Thank you!!!
Glad we fixed it!!
Yep! Thanks again!

Hello!I have had Cursor FX Plus, the previous version for years and love it!
Now I wanted to install this new version, and had to uninstall the old version first...but now my license is not recognized anymore.
I have sent an email to support today but I also thought that maybe somebody in here can help me out.
Regards, Henrik
Hello,
I am sorry to hear you have issues, but, that is because the new version is not an update. Its is an upgrade. ie from V2.16 to V4.03. So you will need to purchase a new license key for it. Your old V2 keys won't work on it.
You can purchase the new CursorFX v4 using this link : https://www.stardock.com/products/cursorfx/
I just installed CursorFX4 because I am looking for a enhanced visibility effect when recording screen sessions for teaching. The options are quite ok, but... the software I want to record applies their own cursor shapes and thus overrides all effects when I'm using it.
What I would be looking for is a persistent enhancement of the mouse cursor visibility - even just a bright halo around the mouse cursor would be sufficient. Is there anything which could be done in CursorFX4 to achieve this?
I could make something in DesktopX for you that can do this.
Here you go, absolute minimum effort mouse follower.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/2o78bstwij3n3qz/MouseHalo.zip?dl=0
I also did this a million years ago: https://www.dropbox.com/s/f5k0u2qphydjy26/dxMouseTrail.zip?dl=0 - a mouse trails gadgets with bunch of 'effects'.
If anyone likes it and wants to know more about configuring it let me know. It has a bunch of effects and options, and can save/load presets to file. There are a handful included.
No guarantees anything will work. Left click the gadget/desktopx icon in the system tray to show the menu for options and closing it.
If anything goes wrong, just kill it from task manager: dxMouseTrails.exe
Thanks for the offer, but I uninstalled CursorFX again because I found a free software which does exactly what I want and need with less effort...
No worries, only cost me 2 minutes. Glad you found something that was suitable for your needs.
