Is there any way to add folders to the list of random backgrounds? The only way that I've been able to find to add images to "Random backgrounds" is to add them individually, which would be incredibly time-consuming for more than a few images, let alone hundreds or thousands. Adding folders via "Manage folders" just seems to add more images that you can select individually as the current wallpaper or add individually to "Random backgrounds" by right-clicking on them and selecting "Add to random backgrounds" one by one. What I'd really like to do is just add a folder or set of folders to "Random Backgrounds" and have DeskScapes randomly go through those images as well as updating the list if more are added to the folders (or removed from them). Is there no way to get functionality like that with DeskScapes 10 right now?

Hello ,
As far as I can see seems you can only add 1 items at a time not folders .
I will submit you request to be considered in future updates .
It may or may not be possible for Random Backgrounds to sort through folders.

Thanks. I was afraid that that was the case. I got DeskScapes hoping that it would handle folders with subfolders correctly for random wallpapers, since the built-in Windows wallpaper in Windows 10 can't do that without some trickery involving convincing it to give you access to the old GUI, only I come to find that DeskScapes won't even let you multiselect images, let alone tell it to use a folder of images (at least not that I've found). So, that's a definite letdown. The fact that you can easily use DeskScapes to put a movie as your background is definitely cool, but that's not really something that I'd want to do normally.
The usual ctrl click and shift click methods work in DeskScapes to pick multiple files to add to random.
Weird. I tried that earlier, and it didn't work, but it works now. I don't know what I did wrong before. Thanks for pointing that out. In any case, that's certainly an improvement over having to select everything one by one, but being able to just tell it to pull all of the images from a folder or group of folders would be much nicer.
I would like to add to this suggestion to have it monitor folders (and subfolders) for new items for random mode. It is a big pain to add a few new animations, and then wait for the UI to render all the thumbnails for ALL of your dreams before you can select everything and add it to the random backgrounds.
Hello,

We really do appreciate your feedback, thanks.
Excellent! Thanks AzDude. I'd also like to add that it would be totally acceptable for the monitoring/indexing to not be real-time. It could do it on start up once, once a day, or whatever. I don't want a big perf hit for this, but I want to save myself some time.
