A few of the Zeldaish games seem cool, but there are a ton of monsters and seemingly no weapons. Am I missing something by playing with an Xbox one controller?

In 'The Golden Isles' there's a dagger on the starting screen that you have to find your way to. Been thinking about ways to better draw the player's attention to important items, but for now you just have to be on the lookout for it
It may be a little rough, but it's so much fun for me. I can see where you'er going and I'm glad I am a founder!
