I'm having a problem where I try to create or edit a map in GalaxyForge, and the resulting saved map is recognized by Rebellion as having 0 players. Whether I start with a new map and add a couple of phase lanes to the existing planets, or edit someone else's map, the result is always the same.
What might the problem be?
It's a known bug. Hopefully will be fixed soon.
also having this problem... even tried rolling back to a previous version as i figured it would be related to an update- game just crashes when you go to the galaxy forge map section in game. Reinstalled the game with / without the DLC which i recently bought as well. My maps still show max players 0 and cant be played.
The only way a galaxy forge map works is if i make no changes and just put one of the galaxy maps straight into the galaxy forge folder. If you open it with the galaxy forge tool at all it doesn't work, even if you just open it and make no changes.
edit: i wish id read that other post before trying all that other shit... thanks your change npcoccupationvictory to normal sorted me out. haha! man do i feel like an idiot...
Hey everyone!I believe I figured out the bug!Open the edited galaxy forge file you want to play with.
Then scroll down all the way until you see the info about the players. Should like this.
designName "NewPlayer0"
inGameName "NewPlayer0"
overrideRaceName ""
teamIndex 2
startingCredits 3000
startingMetal 800
startingCrystal 250
playerType "Normal"
themeGroup ""
themeIndex 0
pictureGroup ""
pictureIndex 0
I found, that in my newly edited forge files, the 'playerType' ends up displaying something like "npcOccupationvictory". It needs to say "Normal".
Edit this option for all the players, save, and you should be able to play your map!
I really hope this helps you all, please let me know (:

Many thanks for this Will!!
Worked great..
Had the same issue.
OtherBrotherGuy's fix worked great.
Just to clarify, for some users …
You have to open the Galaxy Forge .galaxy file in the Galaxy Forge folder (with all of the Galaxy Forge .galaxy files) with Notepad (i.e., right-click on the .galaxy file, click on "Open With," and then select the Notepad app.
The "Player" lines in the file are all the way at the bottom of the page, as OtherBrotherGuy said.
Change all of the npcOccupationalVictory text with "Normal", and all of the players will show-up in the menu when the game launches.
Thanks, man … great fix!
Thanks everyone! Super happy everything is working for you now. I was quite frustrated as well.
