weather docklet will not sync with weather data source. docklet will not refresh either. docklet remains blank after rebooting.
You definitely should try the HTC Home 3 widget: http://www.htchome.org/en/ , been using it for year here, and you can pick from different weather providers.
ObjectDock was abandoned because the creator of the program is no longer with Stardock.
Then Stardock should either assign fresh blood to to rejuvenate it or do away with it completely. I am sure they must get tired of hearing peoples complaints. They scrapped other programs such as mycolors so I am not sure what the difference is, though I am sure someone will point something out.
ObjectDock still works on 7 and 8 and some 10 computers.
Yup, I have no problem with it on 7 and it works ok for me on 10. I find on 10 it can be a little buggy but it is still usable.
I use Rainmeter for my weather. I liked XWidget until I kept getting pop ups to purchase the pro version.
I use both. I never liked when the pro version of xWidget was launched but I was given a free subscription because I make skins for it.Is there not a way to diasble the pop ups? Most of the skins can be downloaded from deviantart so there is no need for the pro version.
I just look out the window
👍
I also do that sometimes but I have to look into my crystal ball for 5 day weather forecast.
I flip a coin.

That does nothing, just tried it, if the issue is that the api license has expired, the only solution will be to purchase a new license.
Just out of curiosity, what would the cost to Stardock be? And how can they support this cost in perpetuity for a program that I bought for under $4?
I don't really remember why I have objectdock. I have only 4 docklets on it + the weather docket. I also use rainmeter so I am not w/o a weather app and can live w/o the OD one. My main taskbar companion app, however, is Rocketdock. I love making/using animated icons for my various apps. I also incorporate 7stacks to cascade the docklets into additional locations. Does the OD have animation docklet functionality?
Guys, if you stopped using ObjectDock, then more power to you, but to come on the forum, complain about the Dock, then say it doesn't matter 'coz I've switched, well, that is kindofa cop-out. Either you are here asking for a solution from Stardock or you are not - saying "yeah, I liked it a while back, but I don't use now, so please fix it, but I am still using something else" sort of sends mixed messages, doesn't it?
I would like a fix. I would like to see someone take up the banner and keep Object dock up to date. Alternately, if it really is abandonware, for Stardock to release the code on GNU community and let some fans have a go (not me, not a programmer). Sure I could use Rocket Dock, but I happen to have been using ObjectDock for what seems to me to be at least a decade or more (is it really that long since Stardock started skinning? I was an early customer, but frankly, I don't remember how long ago that was - only that I wanted to recreate my SGI environment on a PeeCee after being forced to switch from Unix) and yeah, I am used to it, it is now an integral part of my work environment. Is it a bit buggy at times? Yup - sometimes I need to kill it and restart it, but that was something that was true in all versions of Windoze since I was forced to move to it, which means XP, 7, etc. So here I am, hoping someone will come up with a solution, not saying to Stardock, yeah, it needs a fix, but I don't need it, thanks all the same. That simply is not constructive. You are telling them that anything they do is a wasted effort, and that isn't nice or fair on them or on those who DO want a solution and are grateful if they make the effort. At this point they are not making any money off of this, so yes, it IS out of the goodness of their hearts and their desire to please loyal clients that they might try to fix it, so don't muck them and us about.
I use win 10 x64 and object dock is running fine. I only lost the function of the weather icon a week or two ago. It seems the Stardock server cant connect to Accuweather. May be is time to forget about the objectdock soft and take another way.

wilorg, I challege you to show the post where anyone said what you are claiming. There was a couple people including myself that had mentioned alternatives, we did not say that we were not using Objectdock any longer and then came here to complain. I still use Objectdock and would hate to see it go but I am also not going to sing the praises of the weather docklet when there are much better free apps that provide my weather details on my desktop.
You should stop putting words in peoples mouths.
Well I thought it was me again. Win 7 Ultimate 64 here and weather dock still has N/A. Have you an eta??
HI All
I have this on both Windows 10 Pro and Windows 7 Pro and neither are displaying the weather any longer. What are the chances of getting this fixed?
Thanks!

Junior Crooks, reply #39 and 43 say just that. However, perhaps you are right and I take the various carping and advocation of other Docks systems to indicate cessation of usage where there is none.
What we all agree on is that if possible a fix to the problem, which is very recent for all of us, would be appreciated, and we would all welcome an update to ObjectDock itself if someone at SD is willing to take up the baton. Heck, I would happily pay for a good upgrade to it.
Out of curiosity, has anyone else noticed that SD is still selling ObjectDock on their website? I find it remarkable to still be charging for a software that is long out of development, even if the charge is very small - perhaps I have not read their site correctly, but there is still a link to a freeware and charged version.

No they don't, reply 39 was in response to Sean asking about the fix he provided a link too. veduswoolley simply said he was tired of Objectdock not working so he changed to a different dock, thus was unable to try his fix (which does not work anyway) I do not see that post as coming here just to complain about Object dock, saying fix it but I won't use it even if it gets fixed which is what you are claiming people are saying.
Reply 43 even less so. They were just saying they decided to use a different dock because they like the features better (I am summarizing)
Even if those post were saying or even implying what you said, it comes down to only 2 people doing so.
I think everyone needs to relax. Stardock will fix the weather docklet if they can or choose too but if it does not get fixed it is not the end of the world. Life is not going to stop because you cannot see basic weather information on the dock. Like I have already said, there are other and even better options available.
ObjectDock still works on Win7 And 8. Some people still use these OS's.
