I installed Groupy and it is unusable in Excel. I have 2 documents open and have the 2 Excel windows grouped but when I use the arrow keys to try to navigate between cells on the active spreadsheet, it shifts me to the other spreadsheets. It's like the arrow keys are permanently mapped to shifting between the different files in the group. I have this problem whether hot keys are enabled or not. ALSO, when I try to use the mouse to navigate within an open spreadsheet, every time I click on a cell, it causes it to jump to the other document. There is no way for me to use Groupy the way it was intended.
This is on a Windows 10 device with Office 365 installed. Core i7 desktop with 32GB of RAM.
Basj, I have a video but don't know how to get it to you. It's 32 mb.

Hello you can upload it to YouTube and share the link here for everyone.
Thanks

issue occurs with AND without external monitor. laptop 1920 x 1080 and 100% scaling.
sometimes it doesn't just jump to the other spreadsheet, but when I enter data in the cell that jumps, the data already in the cell is added to. (e.g. I was reentering the data to create the error. When I got to a cell with 4846.20 and reentered it became 4846.24846.20 and then jumped when I pressed enter - it didn't override the contents) see link below

is this the same for everyone else?
Thanks for the afford, I will forward both links to Stardock Support Team.
As for your question. No, I do not face this issue. Saying that, I do am not saying there is no problem on your system. We need to figure out what went wrong.
Have you try the purge and reinstall steps we suggest before?
and
Do you have any plug-in/extension into your Excel?
Thank you,
Basj,

thanks for forwarding. I have purged & reinstalled. I have an add-on called KUTOOLS.
https://www.extendoffice.com/product/kutools-for-excel.html
Thank you for the info. KUTOOLS look like a good add-on but not sure it will play well with groupy since it take over a lot of Excel functions. Anyway, I've pass the info to Stardock support Team.
i doubt if all the others have KUTOOLS so shouldn't be the cause. Also someone had a similar issue with word i think
Nope, so far no report on MS Words that I know of. But, we will see if anybody else here could provide some great information like you did. That could help iron out the problem.
Hello,
Try the Clean Boot and see if you have the problem in a clean state,
this will let you know if it is a 3rd party app helping to cause the problem
.
Would you Please try a Clean Boot: https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#cleanboot

re Word, please see and refer AdamLeonard's post on August 30
thanks

I loaded Groupy and KUTOOLS for excel on another laptop using no external monitor or scaling changes. Groupy works perfectly.
What I did find out is that the first laptop I used has a 4K monitor but the resolution is set to 1920 x 1080. I can't test at 4K as the display becomes tiny. So maybe changing the screen resolution is the problem
Thank you. That is something good to know. Will pass the information to Stardock Support Team.
Hi - I have performed some additional testing. This time, just on the Laptop with no external screens, but at 200% magnifications due to resolution of screen. I will usually have 2-3 Excel and a Powerpoint open in the same group. When I start to use a file, it works fine, then over time the functionality of Excel deteriorates. It becomes impossible to copy/paste and then if I type something in a cell on the active workbook, somehow one of the other workbooks in the group gets the typing instead. I don't have any other add-ins loaded.
Thank you. I have passed the information to Stardock Support Team. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patient.
Hi,
Same problem here, typing in one SS jumps to the other SS. 90% reproducible with a big SS (>2.5MB) with lots of formulas / conditional formatting (no VBA).
Tested on two machines
- i7-6700K CPU @ 4 GHz 32GB Windows 10 2560 x 1440 Scale 100%
- Surface Pro 4 - i5 8GB Windows 10 2736 x 1824 Scale 100%
No excessive addons (just ASAP, Search)
I have forwarded your report to the Stardock support team for their review and recommendations.
However being the weekend the Support Desk is closed now till Monday.
If your still having this issue on Monday report back here , please ..
Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates.
We really do appreciate your feedback, thanks.
Just curious, You also on Office 365?
Thanks for looking at this.
- Surface 4 is Office 365
- Desktop is Ofiice2016
Cheers,
Matt.
Thanks for the info.
I have forwarded your problem to Stardock Support team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
Hi - any news on this? Would be good to see a fix soon
There is no news that I know off yet. I have forwarded your problem again to Stardock Support team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.
this has been going on since Groupy was launched. It looks like this forum is a waste of time with no input, response or support from the "Stardock Support Team". I don't think they could give a rat's arse yet Stardock continue to sell this dodgy software.
I agree, for Excel, Groupy is downright dangerous and their continued neglect of this bug is irresponsible. I have uninstalled Groupy.
The only thing I use Groupy for now is in "Windows Explorer" because it is incredibly useful to have tabbed explorer windows to get quick access to files in multiple folders and to move files around. The good news is that MS is working on an OS feature that will support tabbed apps natively. The bad news is that it was supposed to be part of the October update but was pulled from the release.
