Why were they removed?
It seems that Horemvore has left the U.P.
You can search the forum and figure out why, it does no good to rehash it here.
Horemvore's mods were excellent. They improved the game and added depth and diversity. He's a respected contributor to this forum and certainly put a lot of time into GC3. Maybe if we post some support here, he'll reconsider and put his mods back up.
I must be dense. I didn't notice any issues in the Star Trek posts to indicate any reason for him to leave. Except that he was doing the developer's' job to add content.
In any event, its a great loss to Gal Civ. The developers should reward him for doing such good work. If he created his own game, I would join in on a Kickstarter project.
I, for one, would like his mods available. They are excellent quality, and all my interactions with Horemvore were excellent at all times.
Any of his mods still over at nexus?
No, looks like he pulled them
and this is why:
Why has the view count been removed?
Hate to see him go, he was a big part of GalCiv III. You'll be missed
http://darkhammermods.x10host.com/
It is under construction and soem of the links may not work
I'm a little confused. He quit because we're updating the forum display?
That's really weird.
Horemvore, any chance of a coherent explanation?
Clash of personalities, dislike of wording/attitude of posts by a dev (Intentional or not). Call it what you will tbh. I just had enough and decided to remove myself from said anoyance.
I'll continue my mod projects else where, even if its only me that uses them.
Horemvore, I can appreciate your frustration, we all get there once in a while and I totally understand that the work is yours to do with as you please. My concern is that by having removed your excellent mods from this forum (I did notice the link in your post above, thanks) you are punishing the fans of your work and the people who believe your mods make the game more enjoyable and better, you are not punishing the devs you believe wronged you. As I said, it is your work, your call what you do with it.

It was not my intent to annoy. Most of my posts are written on an iPhone so there is little nuance when responding to a question.
Horemvore, obviously it's your call, but I would humbly suggest such a reaction is misdirected.
Mods are NOT for the Developer. They are for you and the community.
I say this from personal experience as I led an AI mod for Stardrive 2. Before doing the mod, I was banned from the Stardrive Steam forum after watching the developer mass delete threads and mass ban people who were perfectly reasonable, so I decided to argue the case for common sense moderation and for that I was banned. That particular developer is probably the biggest idiot in 4X gaming ... and I made the mod anyway ... and would NEVER consider pulling it.
Having your mods on some random website means almost nobody will see them.
So as a member of the community who respects your work, I would urge you to reconsider.
I don't watch this forum much lately - while I appreciate all the intent of how Brad apparently wanted to make Crusade "better" than GC3 was at start, the Crusade release was a haphazard implementation lacking some of the "polish" of a completed update with all of the balance issues and game changes fully implemented. Also it appears Horemvore might been upset with the all the ongoing changes and the difficulty it caused MOD development. In general I have to praise him for persevering though all the changes in the last six months and keep updating his Galactic Star Trek mod and the tons of other Mods he has been working on to make the game better.
For the moment I am back to playing Divinity the Original Sin 2 because I don't want to sit at my computer and spend another couple weeks tweaking the XML files to the way I want. Certainly 2.61 (and a promise of 2.70) has advanced Crusade Expansion considerably since its released but there are some design changes I would rather change even with the 2.61 update; however, in general I was surprised that most of the initial bugs have been worked out. There are ongoing issues in addressing some game features.
I hope Horemvore continues his MOD efforts and certainly there is room for an independent place to discuss GC3 and release MODS. Currently Steam support is very limited.
It will be interesting to see what the new Expansion brings I will probably buy it sight unseen to encourage further game development. I would say the biggest disappointment with Crusade was maybe releasing it too soon (yes Game companies do need to release to get paid) and not completely explaining the intent of all the changes that Crusade expansion was intended to achieve. The initial game previews and Developer posts were helpful but when you try to completely redo how the game is played it requires greater effort to educate the current and future players. This is probably why Crusade got hammered on Steam reviews (people hate change and the initially incompletely game redesign didn't help). This is a case where more patience might been better for everyone (not that I was one of those anxious to see the new expansion - just maybe some of the intended changes should been implemented after the initial release).
Having a game engine that can fully use multiple CPU cores is game changing for a 4X Strategy game as it lets those that have the latest computer hardware deal with the late game slow down that plagues other games like Stellaris. Whatever the future is for GC3 or GC4 hopefully we can all move forward despite our differences and see what the future holds.
Just want to chime in, and say I'm happy Horemvore is continuing his most excellent work. Though, I do question why he'd remove himself from Nexus... but hey, the mods exists, I'm happy with that
With the latest update, Star Trek Crusades stopped working. Now what?
Wait for him to fix it??
What kind of errors are you getting? One big change that was made was that the base game mod folder Is now scanned for mods as well as the Crusade mod folder. This caused me problems trying to play Crusade until I emptied out my My Games\GalCiv3\Mods folder.
Thank you, Publius of NV. The game runs again. I noticed that the memory utilization is much better now as well. It was using around 12 gig before and its now its lower than 7 gig.
After the latest update, Horemvore's Star Trek mod isn't working again. Plus, the link to his new mod location doesn't work. Any ideas?
Hi
I need to ask a favor, could Horemvore or someone share the Star Trek mod ? I had an old one for version 1.07
The link is broken to his mod now.
Thank You
You can find all my Star Trek Civs, factions and ships all over Workshop. I created many of the race ships Horemvore used in is ST conversion mod.
Horemvore, I am sad to see you go but I do understand. Please keep Modding on!
Hello,
I took a break from this game around patch 2.4, however I did continue to keep the mod upto date for a few patches after this break, upto patch 2.7 you can find that mod HERE. I have not play tested this to see if it actually works as intended with these patch or any patches there after. I am fairly sure it will be broken with the 3.0 patch.
I have recently (last week or so) started up the game to try out the 3.0 patch. Yet again I find myself frustrated with the way changes under the hood are made to the game but the UI Information is not changed (Something I do not understand one bit if im honest, you change something, change it ALL). For example, Ideologies have been rebalanced but the actuall Ideology text is still the same, this also applies to Colonization events, Precursor worlds DLC and Lost Treasures DLC. Miss information really really get on my nerves, so I find myself "fixing" this and not actually playing. One of the causes for me to take a break. (Why should I fix something the Dev team should be doing as they make changes?)
If, and atm it is a big if, I decide to come back to this game and invest 100's of more hours gameplay and modding time, I will be hosting my Mods over at CivFanatics.
The Download link provided above includes the Mod Project file for ModBuddy (Civ5 Toolkit) which is what I used/use to build all my mods. I have provided this incase any other modders/tinkerers wish to have easy access to mod/change/fix said mod.
Regards, Horem.
Hey there. I totally respect where you are coming from and the frustrations you are feeling. We all hope you decide to continue your good work.
Just consider this... if you change EVERYTHING like I'm doing... then you make your own descriptions and don't have to worry about updating the dev's lol.
Regardless, nice to hear from you!
THANK YOU HOREMVORE !!
