Playing on a large map with around ten opponents. Game at Turn 360 and I just need to build the Ascension Building but it needs 20 promethium..no worries...making over 4 a turn. But as soon as it gets to around 4 surplus the next turn back to zero... something must be using it... every upgrade and any ship I build I check it is not using promethium...So is there something that uses it every turn that I need to turn off? I'll scrap it if necessary. I know I can win...I don't /can't win any other way without a long drawn out game. I'd have to take over around 60 planets to win by conquest now and that is too tedious for words...The other victories will also take far too long.
Research improvements have Promethion Cost so the auto upgrade of these buildings is probably what is using up each turn. You can turn auto upgrade off but you need to do each planet
Hi,
You can also go through all the planet windows and remove research buildings from their queues. As you remove them, the Promethion count will go up so once enough have gone, you should be able (assuming there are enough of them queued) to start the Ascension Gate immediately.
Cheers,
Jon
Thanks for that excellent advice...I did have a whole lot Research buildings queued and cancelling those gave me enough promethium to build that last building and win the game after 380 turns!!! I am learning more about this game all the time..loving it now with Crusade but never got into GalCiv3 as I found it very slow, didn't always know what I was doing and just tedious at the time...sometimes I think you need to just play these games until you get a good grasp of them and with understanding often comes some love.
