I have Windows 10 Pro. Always the most current updates. I purchased Object Desktop with Fences 3. I have NO problem with Fences. Seems to work just great.
BUT, I have had to completely rebuild my computer by doing a complete re-install of Windows 3 times. This takes hours of time and the user then has to completely re-install and set up all applications unless you have it burned to DVD.
On one of these problems I the system slowed so badly that just starting up the browser took more than 10 actual minutes. Once up there was a 4 to 6 minute delay after clicking. The same problem with ANY application. I "disabled" Windows Blinds and it worked fine. So I removed Windows Blinds but it would not completely go away and caused even more problems to the point the computer would not start.
The second time I installed Windows Blinds the startup screen went to solid BLACK. Only the mouse icon would show up and I could not do anything.
Each time I ran Windows troubleshooter, went to the safe mode and tried everything possible for hours trying to get Windows to start. The ONLY solution was to completely re-install Windows. Even the Restore would not function properly.
I have since decided to run just Fences. Guess what... NO PROBLEMS. I have since upgraded to Windows Creator's Edition and still no problems.
I am afraid to ever consider using any of the Object Desktop apps so to me this was a total waste of money and time. I really "loved" Windows Blinds but will not try it again.
In case someone thinks I did not try various methods to repair the problem, I tried every option available before re-installing Windows. And yes, I have ALL current drivers and updates.
Windows Blinds was the problem. Not Windows, not User, not anything else.
Are you using the latest version of Windowblinds, version 10.6.1 beta?
Your experience is far from normal
WindowBlinds should not have been causing an application to take multiple minutes to start up! That rather sounds like some sort of conflict going on, or the WB skins were installed on a drive that is developing faults and thus causing it to take a very long time to read a file (and probably eventually fail to read).
Regarding the black screen, if you were using Creators edition with the WB 10.5 or earlier versions you would experience a problem. You require 10.6 and higher for Creators edition. For the Anniversary update it must be WB 10.07 or later. This would only cause a problem after login however and I was unclear if you had booted to a blank screen where you would usually login. If so that would not be WB as it is too early in the startup process.
I should mention that if WB is uninstalled and you continued to experience problems then WB should not be responsible for those particular issues and there was probably something else going on (if it isn't installed then it cannot be doing anything) Likewise WindowBlinds is disabled in Safe mode.
Have you contacted support to ask for assistance as thats what they are there for and they may have been able to assist?
There is an issue here ... I, as I have posted before, has similar experiences to what is described here. In my case, Icon Packager seemed to be the cause, though it might very well have been Blinds.

The reason I have posted in the forums, rather than support [I assumed, too, that support would purvey the forums], is that I wanted to see if others were experiencing anything at all like what I was. I figure support will be asking for logs, etc. and I have already reinstalled a clean version of Windows. I have no intention of reinstalling the products at this juncture ... not until the problem is acknowledge and addressed. Like rdtarkus, I am using just Fences [and Shadow FX]. My experience may not be normal, but apparently it does occur.
Anyway, if support needs something from me, I would be happy to provide it. I don't want to destroy the OS, though, in the process.
This is tangential, but I've never had a System Restore succeed. Not with Win7 or Win10. And I've attempted it many times, with multiple different restore points, when I ran into a problem. The reason is a mystery.
By "not anything else" can we assume there were other programs installed as well?
If that is the case disabling Windowblinds having things [seemingly] working again for you does not actually prove that Windowblinds was/is the problem, only that doing so eliminated a conflict with an issue with another program which is the 'real' culprit.
The best method to actually prove an issue is to start with a totally Vanilla OS, and install nothing but Windowblinds.
Only then add whatever other programs were also installed.
If/when things THEN go 'bad' again doesn't PROVE that the other program is at fault, but only that it is THE program/install which conflicts with WB.
It is going to be a combination of events which causes your fault, because as Neil said, it is by no means normal.
Contacting Support with specific logs, etc is the only correct way to resolve a specific issue. Forum post comparisons - looking for similar symptoms reported is often about as safe [wise] as any form of on-line medical self-diagnosis...
Having the same problem here as rdtarkus (OP) has. Win 10 Pro, new pc, in perfect shape, everything runs smoothly.
Then, after installing WB 10.6, (fresh install, no former WB version) I immed. get a black screen. Tried to restart.
Same thing. After appr 10 seconds, windows returns autom. to the login screen. If I login again, immed. black screen again. So, am in a loop.
Had to de-install WB in win safe mode.
Thanks,
arnoud
Before you uninstall though, I would recommend that you contact support so they can see what is going on and get you fixed up. YOu can contact them at https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/default_import/Tickets/Submit
