Is there a setting, command line switch, Steam trick, etc. that will let me run GalCiv3: Mercenaries after Steam has already installed Crusade? I remember the launcher for GalCiv2 having a way to switch what game you wanted to run but the current launcher doesn't seem to have that feature.
I've got a save from the previous version that I've put a fair number of hours into and would like to see it through to the end. The saves are still there, in Documents/My Games/GalCiv3/Games, but the Load Game button is grayed out in the main menu. While not unexpected for a new expansion, it certainly is frustrating.
I also want to know this. Maybe the solution is to turn of the Crusade Epansion Pack in steam. But this would be an annoying way.
Like it was promised Crusade feels like a new game. But I also liked the old game. Losing the old game for the new feels like a high price.
You would just uncheck Crusade to disable it.
I can confirm that this works but is a very unfortunate way to have to do things. For those who think his response is unclear:
Does unchecking the DLC cause Steam to download an old version? And do i have to download Crusade again when i want to play it again?
I know that some other games cause huge downloads when you uncheck a dlc.
You won't be hit with a big download removing crusade. However, it is a sizable download to re-install it.
i myself have already stopped crusader working and making a decission to have the trash totally removed and given a refund
I uninstalled crusade and then if you try and start a new game, it crashes.
