This is getting silly now. I want to know what the hell I have done to this damn mod that keeps rejecting my wallpaper with no explanation other than being a tool.I demand an investigation. I use to enjoy uploading and sharing stuff on this site. But not any more. These rejections are getting petty. there is NOTHING wring with my wallpapers. They adhere to the guidelines.I am >this close< to moving my popular cursors onto another site. A site that appreciates oldskool artists.
If you check your email you'll see the reason in the rejection email.
this is the email.
Thank you for your recent upload of your The Beast Unvailed for WallpapersUnfortunately your upload has not met our guidelines and has been rejected. However we do look forward to your future submissions.
There will be two emails. Check your junk email for the notice.
I swear to god, its this one Mod. He's had it in for me for years, and I have no idea why. He has (over the past 10 years) rejected EVERYTHING i submit. One or two have got through over the past few years, but that's because they were Modded by (what I will call) "real Moderators".
No second email. I never get a second email. just that one.
Your submission was rejected because your preview was too small. It has absolutely nothing to do with the moderators. You didn't follow a simple upload guideline and it was rejected.
Preview has to be 1024x768 to start with.
you are joking....?...why does the preview have to be that big? That's a good size to ripp from. Will potentially loose hits with people copying the preview rather than downloading the art.
I apologise for my outburst (understandably frustrated getting rejected all the time)I'll upload again with a bigger preview. Is it ok if I deface the preview then (I don't trust it being "that big").
Lord Lethris... yes, you can paste 'sample' or similar over the screenshot, however in a freely distributed and non-commercial use, such as this, there's actually no reason to.
If someone were to only use the preview image [even at 1024 res] it's their loss, assuming the 'actual wallpaper bitmap' is significantly larger [and an ideal size these days is 1920 or better]...
Why would anyone just download a preview on a free wallpaper/skin/cursor, that would make no sense at all Lord Lethris. There is no need to deface the preview.
I have seen many of my stuff, and other peoples stuff ripped from the preview, instead of downloading. Its a personal gripe to be honest. it annoys me personally because it affects your hit score. And I know that sounds silly, but it affects the type of stuff I do for the future. if a piece of art isn't getting the hits, then I'll not bother making "that style" of art again, and try something different. For example - if you own a coffee shop and the mocca isn't selling, you take it off the menu and try something different, right?
woo.! its been approved. Again, sorry for the outrage. Honestly, this one Mod use to pick on me something rotten, and reject everything I did. I thought he'd done it again. TBH, I don't think he is about anymore anyway.love xx
This is today not a few years back. You may want to rethink what you said. Downloads are down on everything compared to a few years ago. Don't know what you expect but check the wallpaper site and downloads are lot. Like I said down for everything.
Just enjoy what you are doing and if you are doing it for any other reason maybe time to quit. If others like it wonderful, but make it for you and enjoy.
So, if you're worried about having it ripped from the screenshot, here's what to do:
https://digital-photography-school.com/create-an-image-watermark-in-photoshop/
Or, just create a simple raster .png and apply it to your screenies.
what doc said...You cant avoid having your art stolen anyways, if it is digital and uploaded to the www + it looks goodygood, people will rip it´eventually and upload it again and again. The only downside of that is if someone uploads the preview to a couple of sites that do have file compression algorithms active, the picture will then look like utter pixel garbage if uploaded a couple of times.
